I'm pretty much freaking out - I'm a freshman in HS and my MS is doing A Chorus Line as our school play. I LOVE A CHORUS LINE but I cannot dance AT ALL. I am a really good actress with good comedic timing and a good singer (alto) as well. I'm thinking of auditioning for Judy and Bebe, but really need help with songs!

Hello, try not to stress too much about the dance. I did a post a while ago on dance tips for non-dancers (http://musical-theatre-help.tumblr.com/post/105998155848/dance-tips-for-non-dancers)

In terms of songs, I would suggest an upbeat character song that shows off your comedic timing and acting skills. For example:

1) ‘It’s An Art’ from ‘Working’ - really tells a story and allows you to showcase your acting ability

2) ‘As We Stumble Along’ from ‘The Drowsy Chaperone’ - done in the right way, you could make this song sound much fresher and younger than originally intended

3) ‘Amazing Gertrude’ from ‘Seussical’ - this is a great comedic number with tons of character acting opportunities as well as a very dance-y vibe that fits well with ‘A Chorus Line’
