Before it became one of the most recognisable musicals in the world, it was Andrew Lloyd Webber, Trevor Nunn, Gillian Lynne, John Napier, Cameron Mackintosh, the cast and creative team experimenting in rehearsal rooms and building something completely new. The music. The movement. The makeup. The junkyard. The Jellicle world. 45 years later, these behind-the-scenes moments still feel iconic.
