Eyes immersed in the endless depths of altered and manufactured mako indulged upon the white paradise thus before them. Thoughts in haste raced two at a time per second; yet his facade, in his pride, refused to be shattered below the burdens’ weight that had commenced its setting down upon all of them. Events transpired behind steps taken forward into a future not so certain, mind plagued with doubt. A generalization that condemned him and summarized his sins down to one: What would be if these endeavors were fruitless? A frown merely for his persona, but the clutch Sephiroth held upon Cloud was one to become over concerned about. Dear friend, the dead man was not blind to the efforts placed for the greater good of all those who accompanied him. Unbeknownst to Zack that thoughts that have taken up his mind doomed him to fall behind, the cold snapped him out of his trance. Fancied the cold, he did not. Though he was not nearing his death bed because of it, he’d not file a complain to any deity if they chose to warm it up a tad. However, intent to be one with the fray dismissed shortly afterwards when notice was taken of a certain cetra who seemed to be in a world of her own just as he were only strides before. There was probably plenty upon her mind, as well, in that he harbored little to no doubt. They have all… been going through quite the rides on this adventure and with so yet another thought arose. Would have things been of a lighter weight now if he had done more back when? Plaguing thought halted him, froze him in place. His mind concluding upon the identity of one man: Sephiroth.
Nevertheless, allowance taken upon himself to dwell upon the could-have-been of a design failed to be placed upon a canvas could perhaps be done at a later date. Zack, ever righteous under his own right, always found that even if he held his own wants… he always placed himself last. With so he pressed forward, strides taken towards Aeris where he rested a hand upon her shoulder to snap her back into reality and surely through the gaze of her was his deed needed. He held his peace, giving her shoulder a pat with his gloved clad hand before removing it.
“It’s okay ya’ know?” He commenced with a query. “It’s all been a lot.” A load full for her perhaps. “It’s okay to let things get to ya’ a bit.” Advice perhaps best served warm for him as well, since he was handing it out with hypocrisy. “Yeah, we’re almost there.” Nevertheless a response towards what pent in silver winds. “You’re doing great, Aer.” They all were… what his pride stopped him from doing back when they have done more and beyond that. “C’mon, lets catch up or ya’ gonna get a cold.” Gentle and soft smile graced upon his visage when so was spoken towards her.
She wonders if it really was okay to let things get to her, could she still manage everything if she allowed herself such a luxury? She doesn’t think it’s that easy, and he probably knew that more than most. But she knows he’s only trying to cheer her up, and for that she’s grateful. “Maybe...but what about you huh? Take your own advice sometimes too okay?” Patting his chest before they continued on, but her steps were still somewhat slow as to not catch up to the others so quickly. “I couldn’t have gotten this far without everyone though,” lightly kicking the snow as they walked. Without him and the others she couldn’t have made it out of Midgar, let alone all the way across the world. Sometimes it frustrated her that she’d been so helpless back then, but she wouldn’t change a thing because she’d gotten to meet so many people she now considered close friends.
Thinking on his words some more she reminiscences back to their time in Gongaga when he’d reunited with his own parents. It had been an emotional time for him, and it probably still weighed heavily on his shoulders, however he hadn’t really spoken much about it since. But it does make her think perhaps he could answer some of her questions, as there really was no use in mulling it over and over in her head.
“You’ve never really told me much about your childhood,” there was much neither of them spoke about those few years back, but things were different now. “Your mom and dad seemed really sweet, I bet you were a real rascal as a kid” hoping to one day hear embarrassing stories from them when all was said and done. “What was it like? Do you remember much?” Eyeing him with a keen glance, hands lacing behind her back curiously.
