ââȘđâ«Â âI mean.. If you want to. Iâm not exactly someone a man wants to bring home to his family.â
He had family? She had no idea. She thought he just roamed the streets and then settled in some apartment he had.
âI donât see why not. Youâve the same squishy heart as I do.â Zac answered with a small chuckle.
He decided she was safest in his home while she recovered. The big blob carried Evelynn back to his home. It was far out away from Zaun in the middle of a quite neighborhood that looked to get away from the troubled life there.
His home was a small country cottage. It was well maintained and the front was kept looking amazing. The area was quiet and peaceful. Some neighbors sat upon their porches and waved at Zac as he came home. They were not in the least bit surprised to see him carrying another person home.
âItâs a nice and quiet place.â Zac whispered to her as he walked to the door.
Before he could open it the door flew open and a dark skinned, petite woman with glasses rushed to hug onto him.
âOh there you are!â She whined. âI was so worried about you Zac. I know youâre a dependable young man and that youâd be safe going to Factory 9, but that doesnât stop me from worrying about you!â She continued while nestling her cheek against him.
The sound of a throat clearing tugged her away from him. Standing at the door now was a fair skinned man with brown hair and a scraggly beard. He carried a big smile on his face.
âOut doinâ us proud son?â He asked.
 âAlways.â Zac replied happily.
âWell I see you brought home a guest. Hurt at the factory?â
âA girl!â His mother exclaimed. She had cut him off after realizing Zac was carrying Evelynn. âOh, Stuart our son brought home a woman!â There was heavy pride in her tone
âSee I told you was perfectly fine! You were so worried heâd never find a woman whoâd want him.â She continued to gloat, further cutting him off.
âMartha calm down.â His father chuckled. âOur son was trying to speak.â
âIâll uh... Iâll be caring for her in my room sheâs needs rest.â He stated in an embarrassed tone. Zac loved his parents to death, but sometimes he couldnât get any words in edgewise. He now walked passed them and straight into his room where he set Eve upon his bed. âIâm sorry about them. They uh, well as you can see they love me very much.â Zac apologized with a nervous laugh. âNo doubt they know who you are, they probably just donât mind. I got my personal views from them after all.â
