“Hey! Hey!” The pirate was never good with people. Never good at calming them down. But they try. They rip their gloves off and lay a piece of ice on the blade’s neck to cool them off. The Pirate’s hidden curse snakes up in markings along their forearm.

“Hey you have nothing to be sorry about,” The pirate lets the blade breathe and calm down as their exposed fingers weave through the blade’s hair. And they sing some sea shanty softly under their breath

> The sword sobs in shame, lowering its head deferentially. It's so tired, and the exhaustion is making its head spin which isn't helping the screaming voices mocking it in its head. It apologizes again and again. It's so stupid. It's so useless.

> At first, the pirate's hands in its long purple hair terrifies it further. It tenses, expecting pain, expecting to be pulled back sharply, but the pirate doesn't do that. They just run their hands through its hair gently, in a soothing pattern. It feels like a mother it's never known and always wanted. And the soft song in its ears... its eyes slip shut for a moment before it startles back and its eyes flick open again as the voices crescendo, reminding it not to get complacent or suffer the consequences.

The pirate makes strong eye contact as usual,

“I don’t much like to listen to the reasonable,” the pirate says, “I don’t fear death, or pain.”

The pirate slips off their thick tattered robe.

“I fear only one thing.” They slide their fingers through their hair unbraiding and rebraiding as she speaks.

“And that thing is not you.” She pauses, “You make me feel safe, protected.”

A humming voice like the wind blowing on the grass appears, dances around Friv, and goes off again. It returns shortly after, and even though it shouldn't be possible, the wind seems to ask something

"Do you like my song? Or do you like sea shanties? You smell like the sea. Or do you prefer more mainstream music, like pop?"

It hums a couple notes, just seeming playful

Friv try’s to catch sight of the voice. Her thick long braid whipping in the wind around her. Her eyes flicking around, she catches the smell of the seas and her eyes soften.

“Yes I love sea shanties. I was the Captain Friv of the seven seas!”

Their face saddens.

“I had to give that role up though,” They let her hands slide through the wind.
