one of the biggest issues trans men face is hyperinvisibility and erasure however people dont realize by those words alone how violent this is to trans men. i can't name a single trans man in acting besides elliot page, let alone who plays a canonically trans man. transmasculine undertones in cartoon characters are deliberately written out of the plot. when there are transmasculine coded characters they are immediately claimed as transfem by the fandom. trans men are at a higher risk of forced pregnancy (and by extension, forced detransition, because PREGNANCY FORCES YOU TO DETRANSITION) and we are claimed as women if we point it out or god forbid experience it ourselves. trans women are seen as a higher risk group of reproductive violence than trans men. even "trans affirming" reproductive health providers and clinics never go beyond "some women identify as men❤️" and trans men are turned away from reproductive care for being trans men. trans men face the highest risk of sexual assault in the trans community at 50%. 50%, ONE IN TWO trans men will be sexually abused at some point in his life, and when we are, our abuse statistics arent listed under trans men, theyre listed under women. when we talk about being sexually abused we are misgendered by terfs and trfs alike and our experiences of sexual violence on account of us being trans men are chalked up to womens violence. theres an entire joke on the internet about forcibly impregnating men and the primary group of men that forced pregnancy affects are called hysterical and that this isnt about trans men. theres another one about transmasculine music artists but all yall know is cavetown.
at some point, you have to understand, that the erasure and hyperinvisibility of trans men isnt a consequence of trans womens hypervisibility. it is a DELIBERATE EFFORT to silence and oppress trans men, often done by the trans community itself
