I wish I could stop feeling like expressing my truth and feeling my feelings is me “acting like a crazy person”.

Dating was going well with you. Communication in life and in bed felt right. I felt so comfortable to be around you and be myself with you. I invited you into my life. We spent many days a week together. For about a month. 4 days a week. It felt like a lot. Like a big connection for me. Like a connection that might last. And then you got distant. You said “I think our personalities may not be meshing” because you don’t like social gatherings and I do. I never thought this would be a problem for me. Being TOO social. That’s not me. I don’t like to party. I don’t go out of my way to be in big crowds. I don’t like to be with people I don’t know. I am struggling.

I thought this was a good match. Back to the drawing board.

Hinge - J - Date #2

Last night I went on date #2 with J. He’s so respectful and kind and a bit quiet, but a good amount. I went to the states to see him this time. We met for dinner and then went to a cute little pastry shop for dessert afterwards. After that we wandered around Royal Oak and ended up heading into the neighbourhood and just wandered around for an hour or maybe more looking at cute houses and just talking. He held my hand and told me lots of things. We wandered so far we walked all the way to his house so went went inside and he showed me around. He showed me all the renos he had done to his house. It’s adorable and he’s very proud of it (for a good reason) we sat at the bar in his basement for a couple hours and had a glass of wine and talked about life and what we want and a couple times he noted some future plans we’ll have to have. This time he did kiss me, once in the basement and once upstairs before we left. I felt very comfortable with him. We ended up walking back downtown and he walked me to my car. I drove him around the corner to his and he kissed me goodnight. And in between he said to me “you’re.. you’re a really easy person to hang out with. I feel really comfortable around you.” 🤗 it was adorable!!

Hinge - J

Super cute. His eyes give me Jackson Avery (grey’s anatomy) vibes in person. He’s average build, short-almost shaved brown hair, blue eyes. He was wearing dark parts and a quarter zip grey knit sweater with dress shoes. Sooo cute. Very soft personality as well. Passionate but kind and somewhat quiet. He didn’t leave any lulls in conversation but you can definitely tell he’s the guy who would be okay with silence.

We went to Walkerville eatery and he remembered quite a lot about me. He’s close with his family, he has one niece. He’s very science based which is total opposite of me but he’s also big into movies which is nice. He was telling me a story about his parents and he started to say “well she’ll tell you” hesitated and then continued “if you ever meet her”. So so cute. We had lots to say to each other. Downside is he lives in the states. But his drive to the restaurant was only about 25 minutes, so he actually had less of a commute than I did to Windsor. He told me he’d like to show me around downtown royal oak and I am very excited to do so. He also seemed to not want to end the date. Which is a very nice feeling. We went to the brewery across the street after we ate and closed it down at midnight. He asked if I wanted to go anywhere else but I figured we both had a bit of a drive.. and now it’s 1:30am as I write this. So I think it was a good decision. He messaged me when he got home and said he’d really like to do it again. (For the third time). Anyway. When we went to say goodbye, he started to look at me and I looked at him and I went in for a kiss, he gave me a soft peck on the lips and I looked at him and kissed him again and then he gave me a real kiss. I honestly don’t think he would have tried to kiss me if I hadn’t initiated it. Which is a little refreshing compared to the other dates I’ve been on. And makes me feel more comfortable to go to his town next time 🤗

Sooo before I make a post about the most recent date I went on. I’m going to preface this by saying. The rest of the dates I’ve been on, have resulted in one or two dates. Nothing more. I have yet to figure out why. I’m hoping it’s just because I have found the right person yet. But I’m also really hoping it’s not an error on my part.... having a bit of a rough go around here. But still trying. Anyway.

I will preface my next post by also saying, I’m still talking to T. But I believe he’s not looking for something serious. And he’s fun. But I’m... not getting any younger. I want to have babies and get married and settle down. Or even just be with someone exclusively, travel together, enjoy each other’s company so we can get ready to do all of those things. Anyway. We’ll see how it goes.

Real Life - T

I met T about 7 months ago... he was working at an axe throwing company. I went for my best friend’s birthday and he was the teacher. We were flirting quite a bit. He’s got beautiful blue eyes and a nice beard. And all the girls were talking about how cute he was and how I should ask him for his number. By the time we went to finish up, he had left already, his shift was over. I was soooo sad. The girls at the party were trying to help me figure out how I could still get his number. They thought he was super hot and very flirty with me. The next day I found him on Instagram and added him. He accepted and immediately messaged me.

T: “... you were at axe throwing on Saturday right?”

K: “yes..”

T: “ you must have done some digging to find me??”

K: “yes, sorry if that’s weird. But I thought you were so cute and you had left before I could leave my number...”

T: “don’t be sorry! I thought you were really cute too... I was definitely checking you out.”

Anyway we texted for about a week after this and nothing came of it. About a month later he randomly messaged me and we talked again for a short period, at that time I was going away on vacation, when I got back.. things had petered off. At some point in there he randomly added me of Facebook so I knew he was still thinking of me. Sometime after that I got some liquid courage and asked him if we could just get a drink to break the ice. We agreed on a date and it didn’t work out last minute.

Last week I posted something on my Instagram and T messaged me about it. We got to flirting and he started texting me again. Then asked for my Snapchat. We talked for a couple days and again agreed we should hang out. He talked to me everyday leading up to it. When the day came I thought it wasn’t going to happen because we hadn’t picked a time or what we were doing. Thankfully we finally did. I went over to his house and I was super nervous. I texted him before hand and said

K: “so before I come I wanna be clear. I’m not looking for a one time hookup. Im not judging if you are but it’s just not my thing so I’d rather be upfront about it before I get there. I’m also not necessarily looking for something too serious but definitely not a one time hookup”

T: “that’s not my intention either. I do plan on kissing you, and I’ll probably try to grab your butt... but I’ll also ask you to do it again.”

K: “I’m good with that. Sorry that’s awkward but I just wanna be upfront”

T: “I like your honesty, it’s refreshing”

Anyway so I went over to his house. We talked for a long while before he finally kissed me. He’s a good kisser. Starts soft and then builds. But never too aggressive. We kissed A LOT and cuddled and he tickled my leg and my side and held me tight. We watched a small bit of YOU before falling into each other and moving into the bedroom. He’s very sexy and soft and gentle yet firm. And definitely knows how to make me blush. We didn’t go too far, but just far enough. And I definitely want to do it again. Soon.

Amidst the kissing and cuddles and dirty talk and life talk and gentle gestures. I said “we should have done this a long time ago”. He laughed and said “we definitely should have”. He smelt great. His place is clean. He’s very strong. He’s got a nice beard and just enough hair to grab ahold of. But he shaves his chest hair which makes me sad. I also got a lot of forehead kisses and nose kisses and shoulder kisses and hair kisses. He likes kisses. And I like receiving his kisses. I am very excited anticipating our next get together. He has been messaging me everyday, some of them making me blush, some of them making me smile. The anticipation is making my stomach flip. Until next time T.

Bumble - D

He’s 27. He’s a chef. Like a fancy chef. At a private restaurant. With the cutest softest beard. And the most beautiful blue eyes. And he’s so so kind, with a little potty mouth.

D sat down across from me and as he began to talk, I actually thought to myself : “his eyes. Holy crap. This is gonna be a problem.” That’s how blue they are, and how deep they look in person. Anyway. He was very sweet. We met at wineology, had a drink there and then headed over to F and B. He introduced me to everyone there. He had the bartender make me my own drink and then he ordered for us (after getting my approval, since I’m picky.) we had lots to say. I found out he used to live in Vancouver. He loves to cook. And when he’s not cooking. He’s thinking about cooking. Before we even got dessert he said he wanted to do this again. And then brought it up again to find out what day we could meet up for our second date.

After dinner he ordered dessert. And when the dessert came, he looked at the ice cream, and he looked back at the waiter and said “we’re gonna need more of that” he’s a big fan. But I love that he was honest and it felt very true to his character for him to do that.

The waiter came over to bring us a shot, which ended up not agreeing with me. So I went to the bathroom but D was very concerned I was not okay. When I came back out I explained I wasn’t sick, and that this happens sometimes with my nerves. He said he was glad I was okay, and he kissed me in the street outside of the restaurant.

We went for a little drive and he showed me where he works. Then we went for a walk down by the river. He opened the car door for me each time we got in. He held my hand as we walked and kissed me periodically.

He texted me before I could get home to say thank you for the date and that “Sunday (the day of our next date) can not come fast enough.” ☺️

Bumble-B- the end?

So B and I had what I thought was a perfect second date. We went to a park for a picnic, we laid in the grass for hours and chatted and kissed and touched and cuddled. He said a lot of things to me. Even told me that I wasn’t like other girls and that he was looking for a relationship with me but that he didn’t want to rush into anything. A whole lot more happened but in short it was very comfortable and affectionate. Then Monday he messaged me this (on the left). Obviously, there was my response. Respectfully I didn’t have a lot to say but I also wasn’t going to not respond to him. Today he messaged me again (on the right). Listen B - the problem is that at this point, it’s no longer about you. You’ve said your peace. I responded respectfully. Now you’ve messaged me again, and made it so that I now have to comfort you and make you feel better for not liking me? I get that you’re young. But this is something you need to realize. At this point it’s no longer about you. You need to leave it alone.

But my question now is, why say all of the things you said to me. You met my family and when I told you you’d have to you said “well I assume I would have met them eventually” okay? I took you somewhere I love and you said “I’m guessing I’ll be coming here more often now.” Why? Why say those things and then pull a 180. I talked to my sister tonight about it. And I remembered lying in the park with you and vaguely brushing over the topic of exes (not even trying to!!) and you shut down. “Well some shit happened but that was so far in my past it doesn’t even matter”. Are you shutting me out because you’re afraid. Because you don’t need to do that!! I can wait. I can help. I like you. I liked. You.

So much shit going on.

B- Date #2

Finally went on a second date with B. I’ve stopped talking to the other guys.

B is so cute and sweet. We went on a picnic and just laid together and kissed and cuddled and chatted. He’s very touchy feely. And he kept saying that he liked me. Told me his favourite thing about me so far is how humble I am. I asked him what he’s looking for, and he said relationship. And I kind of made a face because his profile said “I don’t know” and he’s like “I didn’t think I was. But I like you. You’re not like other girls”

He’s a very good kisser. 😍

The most adorable thing happened last night. (Or at least I think it’s adorable).

He and I were texting, and he asked what movie I was watching, so I told him

K: Never Back Down

B: you’re joking?

K: nope.. about what part? Why?

B: that’s my favourite movie of all time. I’ve seen it over 50 times. You probably think I’m insane.

K: not at all. There are a number of movies I’ve seen that many times, and some shows that have way too many season, and I’ve seen all the episodes way too many times.

B: I’ve seen One Tree Hill 6 times

K: excuse me

B: you’re excused

K: that’s literally the show I was thinking of when I typed that message. Why do we have the same taste in movies and tv shows.

It just feels like we click. And I’m afraid of what will happen if we don’t continue. I’ll be so sad. Again.

Is there a trick to this? To not catch feelings. Or at least as quick as I do.

He messaged me tonight from work - completely unprompted and said “Id much rather be at home watching a movie right now with you” Now don’t get me wrong. I get that we’ve only been on one date. But is it so much to ask for someone to feel the same way as I do, from the start? It seems impossible. But B makes it feel possible.

I’d say this one was a dud. He didn’t seem like a bad person.  He seemed attentive. But I definitely wasn’t attracted to him. And we also seemed to not have much to say to each other. To me it seemed the connection was not there. And then he said “that’s what we’ll do on our next date then” and said something we had been talking about. Did he not realize there had been a ton of awkward gaps in the conversation. We literally sat, eating dinner not talking to each other. On our first date. We didn’t have anything to say. To me, this is a problem. I talk. A lot. I always have something to say. But I didn’t, not to N.  At the end of the date, which honestly didn’t last too long, but it felt long enough. He high-fived me. Way to put yourself straight into the friend zone. Though, he was going there anyway.

Bumble - B

This was the best one of the batch.  We had been talking and snap chatting for almost two weeks. He works shift work and was also in a summer class when we first started talking. He added me on Instagram after we had been talking for a couple of weeks. At the very beginning he told me that he would love to get a drink with me. This was before I went to Whislter for the weekend. When I got back, he told me again “I’d still really like to get a drink or something soon. I’m just so busy right now.” I told him “I can wait, I can be pretty patient when I want to be” what I wanted to say was “I can be pretty patient when i want something” but I thought that might be a little intense. I could tell from his texts and his snaps that I would like him. His personality is very outgoing. He would text me almost every day, but never in an annoying way. He’d ask how my day was.. what I was up to... little things, just to remind me he’s thinking of me. Finally this week he asked me out. We discussed an escape room but he didn’t realize we should probably have more than two people to do that.. we settled on going for drink and then seeing a movie, and then going for a walk by the river. The movie we settled on was Toy Story 4. TOY STORY 4. HIS CHOICE. I mean come on, adorable? Or no? What about when we got into the theatre and he was severely disappointed by the lack of people there to see the movie on opening night? Still just me thinking he’s adorable? I can’t help it. You haven’t seen him. He’s super cute. Boyish charm is a great way to describe his personality. But he’s tall, with a shaved head, beard, and great smile. ANY HOW. While we were having our drink (which we didn't give ourselves much time for, so we probably only talked for about a half hour before the movie, but it wasn’t bad since we had been texting for a while) we were discussing movie’s and he was saying things like “well, we should watch that movie then, if you haven’t seen it” “ Oh, I haven’t seen End Game yet, we should see that too” which told me he was already thinking of seeing each other again, essentially when our date first started! :)  Anyway, watching the movie, he put the arm rest up between us so we could easily share popcorn. Even made sure to ask me halfway through if I wanted any, since he put the bag down beside him. And I saw him look over at me a few times during the movie, but pretended not to notice.  After the movie I drove us down to the river. I never felt as through conversation was hard or weird. We essentially agreed to disagree on a couple things, but to me it seemed like a good thing. You need that sometimes. Anyway, I have no idea how long we walked for. But we walked, talked, laughed and just enjoyed the company. After we drove back to where his car was. I parked, we finished up our conversation and he was like “Okay well...” and then just leaned it. The kiss was great. We kissed for a couple seconds and I said “so this means you want to do this again?” and he was like “yeah I do!” and I said “you’re pretty cute, you know that?” and he said “you’re pretty cute too” and we continued to kiss. I pulled away for a second and smiled and pecked him on the lips and he said “I can keep doing this for a while..” and he smiled and we kissed some more until I finally said “okay, goodnight..” After all, we were in the movie theatre parking lot and things may have gotten out of hand if we continued. He said “okay, and smiled. “Text me when you get home.” So I did. And we chatted, and he flirted some more saying “things got pretty heated in the car”. And that he went out for a beer after and he told his friends about me. All good signs, I’d say.  Here’s hoping this date will lead to a second.. and third..

“Would you like to go out to see if we actually get along in person?”  Great question. And though I can appreciate how honest it is, is it the best way to ask someone on a date? Perhaps not.  I went out with him anyway.  We went to a restaurant I had never been to in Chatham. This date was sort of in the middle, like A’s. I would do it again, but was there chermistry? Perhaps not. The next day he asked me to go have a drink with him on his boat. Which sounded lovely at the time, but at the time I also knew I had 3 dates (A, B, & N) set up for Thursday, Friday, & Saturday, and I needed Wednesday to release. Away from people. Anyhow, today (Saturday) he asked me if I wanted to go for a drink on his boat tomorrow. So we will see how the second “date” goes.  As for the first date, he did not kiss me. Which again, leaves me feeling a little friend zone-y. And did I want to kiss him? Meh. Did I like his personality? Yes?

The next week he asked me “if I’d like to do something this week?” Now, I had lined up another date already before this one but I’d like to continue with A before I move on to the next guy.  Anyway, he had previously told me that he really likes ice cream, specifically gelato, so I told him we should go for ice cream after work one day. We went to this Italian place I had never heard of. It was excellent for people watching but the conversation was still just good.. okay. Was it because of our location choices? Either way, as we parted ways for the second time, I still didn’t feel a connection with him in a romantic way. We hugged and parted ways. In a few days he will leave for 3 weeks for work several hours away so I won’t see him. Time will tell if he’s still interested when he gets back.
