wanting to kiss someone is just. like. what do you mean i am experiencing something akin to hunger? what do you mean i can feel this as an actual tactile ache? it is not "i want" like "i want a bike," it is "i want" like i am found wanting. you can want it so much you can force your own pupils to dilate. i'm seasick about it. this is a thing we evolved. this is something that we can physically crave.
"how to prevent smile lines" there are a thousand more important things to do with your time than postpone evidence of life's joy on your face

oh this is a life saver
So these are both âAw Fuck Iâm outta real foodâ meals BUT ALSO: if youâre learning how to cook, these are great âbaby stepsâ meals to learn how to cook basics into something enjoyable without âwastingâ anything expensive. Though I maintain that even cooking screw-ups are valuable in terms of lessons learned.
Also theyâre great for when you get absorbed in something and you realize your blood sugar is dropping and you need to make something Quick.
Making basic storecupboard or fridge ingredients less basic and more nutritious.
This is wonderful.
the bottom of the museum of human history
#oh man. I am in love with this image.#the idea of a museum with this at the heart of it? the slope down to it?#that you have to unravel the past like a skein of thread as you travel deeper and and deeper backwards in time#to this. the first fire. the way it illuminated the painted walls; the way the aurochs leapt with the flames#ah. perfect. âBut the 8-hour workday is too profitable for big business, not because of the amount of work people get done in eight hours (the average office worker gets less than three hours of actual work done in 8 hours) but because it makes for such a purchase-happy public. Keeping free time scarce means people pay a lot more for convenience, gratification, and any other relief they can buy. It keeps them watching television, and its commercials. It keeps them unambitious outside of work. Weâve been led into a culture that has been engineered to leave us tired, hungry for indulgence, willing to pay a lot for convenience and entertainment, and most importantly, vaguely dissatisfied with our lives so that we continue wanting things we donât have. We buy so much because it always seems like something is still missing.â

alternate. words from bertolt brecht
i need to get addicted to completing tasks
in case anyone else needs to hear this itâs ok to be more serious. i donât just mean âitâs ok to be serious sometimesâ i mean in general. not everyone has to be funny. it doesnât have to mean youâre sad or unlikeable. you can just be serious and genuine most of the time and thatâs great. i personally think that weâre too focused on âfunnyâ as the primary carrier of likeability right now. i often feel starved for serious conversation, for serious spaces, for a feeling of gravity. you donât have make good jokes to give people a good time. i say, goof only as the spirit moves you, & donât worry about it.Â
