How is it fair for people to treat me like I don't exist?? Why do people think I might never need them because I'm so self accomplished?? Why are they not here with me when I need them the most?? Why is it that it's only me that thinks,' oh that person might need me'?? Why is it always me who at the end is alone and lonely?? Why is it that I try to be everything people need me to be but I cannot expect the same??
I do hope there's nothing wrong with my search on google be like "comfort gay shows"
Okayyyyyy, I have a few words..... First of all I know it's barely been a day but somehow I have already watched the movie 3 times, because it's a queer love story with fluff, angst and plot in the same amount, and I'd like to tell people that this movie is not really exactly the book, it's like something totally different but still similar at the same time. I did miss the parts of 'fucking eyelashes' because trust me, taylor zakhar has those eyelashes okay, it came with the package, and ofcourse June, Alex's sister, and for the record I did miss Henry's mother too, I didn't really feel any indifference towards the queen being changed into a king, but these changes are explicitly amazing and focused totally on Alex and Henry, so that's kind of an amazing thing, and the smut scenes were really sensual and I like that about the movie because in a movie specially with such a strong representation, you don't show sex, you show the affection and the emotional attachment and I think Matthew Lopez has done a great job at that.
ok, i have to say this before i say anything else about the rwrb movie:
when the book came out, it was groundbreaking. it was one of the first true queer rom coms. this movie is now even more groundbreaking.
yes, some depth and detail was lost from the book, but that’s bound to happen in any adaptation. but before we complain about that, let’s ask ourselves:
exactly how many fluffy, fairy tale, sexy, funny, sugary, queer romance movies are there? you could probably count them all on one hand, and most of them probably aren’t major studio releases.
queer people deserve silly romcom movies too. queer people deserve to see themselves in tender, uncensored intimate moments on screen too. and, correct me if i’m wrong, but i’m pretty sure this is the first time a major motion picture has explicitly mentioned truvada/PrEP and included a conversation between a parent and child about safe queer sex. like…queer people don’t get shit like this, and now we do. and that’s a big deal.
True that

when Gulzar said 'Aankhein thi jo keh gayi sab kuch, Lafz hote to mukar gaye hote' and when Nizar Qabbani said 'I want to discover a way to love you without words' and when Javed Akhtar said 'Kisi zubaan mein bhi woh lafz hi nahin, ke jin mein tum ho kya tumhein bata sakoon', I felt that.
