Week 2 of Blender Workshop!!! Learned a new technique for forming more organic shapes that I definitely knew at one point in Maya but never transferred it over.

Because I have recently fallen into a Tamagotchi obsessed hole, I decided to use this new technique to model my little Namo, (who is currently sleeping on my Connection with his daughter) Also discovered Shrinkwrap! Very helpful for making flat facial features!

The first one is my first lighting pass before discovering it to be completely wrong for the photo lol

Doing a weekly workshop in Blender with my friend!! Week 1 was familiarizing with Blender shortcuts- I'm not starting from 0 here but my workflow is garbo, so it was good to learn and practice new shortcuts... here is a little... friend (?) we have jointly named Pix*I She probably got to someone/something a few seconds before :)

DIOWP Dev Diary #1

Alrighty! Finals are over! So I finally have some time to reshuffle my life a bit and figure out what I'm going to be doing for the rest of the year. That starts with actually starting and finishing Domestic Inhabitance of a Wild Poppy, a short comic story that should be about 3-4 chapters maybe. I'm going to be writing out the main story sections in a google doc to further expand and complete the actual script and finalizing character designs firstly. That should help me figure out actual page count and get a schedule running.

Once the character designs are finalized I can send them to my friend (who agreed to be colorist) and see if they would prefer any changes with designs or suggestions with palettes etc. I'll probably draw up a test page of the middle of the plot and we'll decide what the payment rate will be from there. I think that might be a good plan. In the end I would like to publish it in total on GlobalComix or something. If that goes well I would love to have a printed version but thats probably something to decide muuuch later.

I was wrong to be afraid

It is so easy to attach yourself to an object that shows even a smidge of whimsy... I want to write an essay about it and its only day 2 of having this beebboop

Bandai gives this thing a sleep cycle and that was all it took???????

Perhaps calling it a beepboop before I had it was already the signs of doom for me I want to write an essay on the limitations of technology and how utilizing it purposefully allows the limitless potential of the imagination to ultimately "play". Perhaps it will then lead into an analysis on the greater modern media's push for realism and how it kills some of that room our minds should be playing in. Maybe an analysis on sylistic art and impressionism and AI and ultimately on being human. I want to do this instead of studying
