More about Chaihuo Maker Space: Chaihuo Maker Space was created and sponsored by Seeed Studio. As the first maker space in Shenzhen, Chaihuo has gathered a lot of DIY enthusiasts and entrepreneurs, including SZDIY, the Android-loving group, iOS Party, Microsoft Club, SZHAM and Amateur Radio Group. Its name comes from the Chinese saying "The fire burns high when everybody adds wood to it". “Chaihuo” is the Chinese word for “wood". In western phraseology, this might be expressed as “many hands make light work”. We provide an open and collaborative environment for Makers and encourage cross-field communication. Here at Chaihuo, we provide equipment for prototyping, including 3D Printers, Laser Cutters, electronic and mechanical equipment etc. We also organize activities for makers to get together as well as different levels of workshops for people to learn about engineering and general DIY skills. Chaihuo Maker Space is also the organizer of Maker Faire Shenzhen. Chaihuo strives to spread maker culture, boost communication among makers of different backgrounds and facilitate crossover cooperations.
