 It’s a white & creamy kind of day! Skincare is a real struggle for me, but right now I’m loving Pixi products. I still have blemishes here and there so I thought I’d try The Ordinary to clear those up a little more. PLUS it’s so much cheaper than Pixi…. Still waiting for a call or email for a possible position to work this summer!!

My spring break is slipping away from me, but it’s been productive so far! And tomorrow I’m getting out of town for some hiking which, weather permitting should be really nice.

The featured book is Shrill by Lindy West, and while it is an assigned reading for a class, I could not recommend it more. It’s been an absolute joy to read, as lighthearted and funny as it is intelligent and heart felt.

23.05.19. Revising my notes on Roland Barthes’ “Mythologies” and Edgar Morin’s “The Stars” for my essay on Leila Diniz’s representation on media and films. In case someone is wondering, Leila Diniz was a great brazilian actress. Although short, her career was permeated by controversial attitudes for the time. I mean, it was the 60s/70s and Brazil was suffering from a military dictatorship. She was the first woman on Brazil to ever wear a bikini while being pregnant! Maybe it doesn’t sound so awesome when I put it like that, but by doing so Leila ruptured every santified image of motherhood and gave power to other women so they could claim agency upon their own bodies.   Anyway, I absolutely love her and I also love writing about inspiring women. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
