The brunet couldn’t even believe what he was seeing right now. His friend he has been searching for years was finally here, alive and in once piece. It was unexpected to see the blond in this place, to discover he was still alive after all those years of search. Closing his eyes with comfort, Pairo laid his left hand on the male’s golden crown, petting him like a father who just found his lost son in the middle of nowhere. ‘Finally,’ said to himself, forgetting where they were right now. Both of his mind and world were now being
This surprised him a lot in different way. Kurapika had grown taller than he has expected. Although, his androgynous looks didn’t seemed falter a bit. The shape of his shoulder though changed a lot since the last time he saw him, but still slimmer for a male of their age’s standard. He couldn’t help but to chuckle a bit at this brief examining of his friend. He wanted to make sure if this was actually Kurapika and not any other illusion he kept seeing from his journey.
After pleasantly ravishing the silkiness of his golden strands, Pairo placed his hands on the smaller male’s shoulder before backing away to look at his face. Kurapika changed a lot, that’s all he could say right now. “I can’t believe I’ve finally found you, Kurapika,” he stated, smile can’t stop coming out from his face. The honking of the vehicles halted the taller male from speaking, looking around only to see angry drivers waiting for them to leave their post whilst some of the crowds’ eyes on them. Holding the boy’s hand, Pairo hastily dragged him away from the street.
Pairo was so warm. Kurapika had lost count of the many dreams he had of this moment -one he thought to be just a dream and nothing more- yet he couldn’t feel. In his dreams, Pairo would fade, like the rest of his family, in a cold gust of wind. But today, the boy was breathing. His heartbeat was like a heaven-sent song, and he couldn’t help the tears that trickled from the corners of his eyes. He had been alone for so long, that this all seemed so unreal.
When Pairo drew away, it clicked to Kurapika that his friend had grown much taller in the past few years, even taller than he was. His face had matured, yet the smiles that always glinted in his eyes hadn’t aged a day. Relief washed over him at that, that though there were countless differences, he was still himself. Unlike the way that Kurapika had fallen. Gray bags faintly hung under his eyes, which had faded into a slightly darker shade than when he was young. He was slimmer, food had become a lesser priority the closer he got to finding the Spiders.
And under his clothes, he was tainted with so many scars.
Yet Pairo was still so bright.
Even when they held hands, it reminded him of when they were younger, running through the fields trying to get out of trouble like the mischievous kids that they were. They weren’t even running away -only out of the road- and yet he could still feel that euphoria.
“Pairo!” Kurapika exclaimed, “I have so many questions! How did you survive? Where have you been? Did anyone else survive?” The questions shot out like rapid-fire, and even when they were safely on the sidewalk again, Kurapika couldn’t let go of Pairo’s hand. He had to hold onto him, so he’d never lose him again.
