!! This intro is changing really soon; I have a bit of changes to make to Chain’s character as a whole because he’s just really depressing D: I still have archives of everything on this account, I’m just going to change up the intro and some of his personality, I just don’t have time right now :) -em

I’m Chain. I like chains, I guess? And sharks. Sharks are great. I go by he/it. Sister Nyx told me to make an account here so I could learn to be “social”. (Which I am already, [most of the time] this feels a little pointless…) I played bass at the start of the Ghost project before being taken in to the infirmary and kicked out of the band.

⛧⃝ I only speak English and a bit of Latin. I haven’t had to deal with Latin since I was in the pits so I don’t quite understand it anymore.

⛧⃝ This is a page targeted towards adults. While I welcome minors to interact, I’d prefer that they’d not interact with NSFW posts or send NSFW asks, because it just makes it weird for the both of us.

⛧⃝ I’m in an open relationship with Papa Emeritus I Primo, Atlas, and Reed.

⛧⃝ Some things that interest me are marine life, mostly sharks, swimming, pretty lights, and I know a little bit about guitars, if you wish to speak to me about that.

⛧⃝ I have a mental disorder called ‘schizophrenia’, I struggle with auditory hallucinations of all kinds, sometimes visual hallucinations, delusions, disorganized speech, and I am generally not good at making decisions. Socializing is pretty hard for me too.

⛧⃝ I’m a deep sea water ghoul, I’m similar to what humans would call a “fanfin seadevil anglerfish”. I stay in the lake most of the time, but I don’t interact often with the other water ghouls. I was told to tell anyone here not to go to the lake at night. However, I don’t mind if you do…

⛧⃝ Fun facts? I’m color blind (protanopia), I have scales that light up from magic (not bioluminescence), I have a grucifix tattoo on my right palm, I like leopard sharks. I’m gay, polyamorous, and greyasexual. Recently I discovered I have dysgraphia so that’s fun

I’m— Well, I’m not exactly new to The Ministry —But it has certainly changed a lot since the last time I remember walking these halls…

I was told to come talk to you.

Could you perhaps… help me find my way around this place… once again…?

Miasma was idly turning back and forth in his chair, eyes fluttering as he struggled to stay awake while reading the ministry’s newspaper when the ghoul walked in. His eyes darted up to Chain, his pupils immediately dilating into small white dots at the sight, the sleepiness snapped right out of him.

“… Good morning, Chain.” Miasma said after a moment of thought. He rose to his feet.

“They decided to keep you around, hm?”

That statement caught Chain offguard.

“What?”

It’s not that he didn’t recognize the ghoul in front of him, yeah, he’d seen Miasma around the ministry, and most definitely had a few dreams where Miasma appeared, but had he ever even spoken to this quintessence ghoul?

A certain sense of deja-vu seemed to strike Chain; but he still didn’t know what Miasma meant by ‘decided to keep him around’.

…Decided to keep Chain around? Well, why wouldn’t they?

Feeling slightly dazed, Chain cleared his throat and pushed his shoulders back, straightening up his posture.

“…Uh, yeah, I suppose so,” Chain replied, still not over this feeling that he knew this ghoul… perhaps in a past life.

Miasma raised an eyebrow. He remembered this kind of behavior from the ghoul, but for once once, he didn’t feel the urge to poke at him, to dig up the past and throw it in his face while he was vulnerable and available. It was clear the ministry has sucked out any worthwhile responses from him anyway. At least, that was the excuse Miasma would tell himself for now.

“… I say that about a lot of ghouls.” Miasma said, the harshness in his voice completely absent. It was an uncomfortable feeling, to not want to hurt him despite the memories he held of Chain. But maybe this time could be different.

“It is safe for me to assume that any ghoul who comes to my office will have problems that justify banishment. It is… nothing personal.” He lied. “Who sent you here?”

Chain opened his mouth to reply, but no sound came out.

Who did send him here?

“I don’t…” he made eye contact with Miasma for the first time, genuinely confused with himself, “…I don’t remember.” He seemed to forget a lot. Was that a new trait?

“But it doesn’t matter, right?” Chain felt quite awkward standing there, hands in his pockets of a very stretched out old piece of cloth he considered his robe.

I woke up in my bed on Saturday.

I feel like I had a really good nap. So good, in fact, that I time travelled a few years into the future…

The last thing I remember before I fell asleep was sitting in the practice room with the band. Everything after that is kind of a blur… I know there is some kind of gap in my memory, and I can somewhat remember fragments from the last ten years, but everything is so blurry. It’s like my brain had been emptied like a trash can.

This is such an upsetting feeling. I know something happened after I was dragged away from the practice room— I know it’s been over ten years now, but I just can’t remember anything.

I only dream about these strange ghouls… one really tall one, purple quintessence ghoul with long hair…

Oh satan, my head hurts…

Chain sat in the corner of his room, facing the wall. A cardboard box sat next to him, slightly open. One could look inside and see pill bottles, ones full of Chain’s meds. The ministry had trusted him to know when to take them and not to use them for anything malicious, and Chain was afraid.

But tears streamed down his cheeks and he rocked back and forth on the ground, clutching his knees to his chest. He hadn’t eaten in two days, and he was very sick.

At the sound of Ivone’s voice, chain’s head turned. His reaction time wasn’t very keen either, and he looked like he hadn’t slept in weeks.

“G-Get… out… of my room…”

Chain was stressed. It felt like the world was against him. It was every man for himself, except every other man had teamed up against Chain. And Chain didn’t know what to do anymore.

”oh you poor poor thing. Clearly you’ve forgotten our last conversation. I never leave when you ask. I leave when I desire.. and currently you are quite- filling is the word I wish to use.”

Ivone crept closer. He seemed more cryptid like than last time. His face was barely visible only his teeth could be seen. He crawled onto Chains bed picking up one of the pill bottles grinning.

“Meds? My my Chain the ministry trusts you now? …or maybe they’re hoping you do it.”

Shaking the pill bottles next to his ear staring at him like a fox to a rabbit. Like a predator to prey.

Chain snapped at him, but it was sluggish. He huffed, standing up on shakey legs.

“G-Get… out…” He thought he was done crying (over someone like you) but he clearly wasn’t. His eyes moistened and he took a step towards Ivone.

“G-Get… out…” Chain swallowed dryly. The skin on his hands and arms was dry, rough and almost like leather.

“I-I… need them f-for…” Chain swallowed again, shaking his head. He didn’t know what to do it. He was more than a mess. He wasn’t there all the way, there was no soul behind his empty eyes. He looked like a ghost. Chain was replaced by pain, and it showed.

“Why… must y-you come…” at the worst times.

“She’s g-gone… she’s gone, Ivone, and she c-can’t d-defend hers-self…” Chain broke down into tears, collapsing onto the ground. “I-I s-swore.. I’d protect… her… I wouldn’t l-let anyone take her…”

“atleast you know it’s your fault. Itd be worse if you were said it wasn’t your fault. Can barely take care of yourself why would you think you could take care of a child hm? Just because you promised doesn’t mean anything.”

The ghoul answered swinging his feet. He felt rejuvenated. He felt energized in Chains suffering.

“You know why I come don’t bore me with questions I’ve answered.. don’t bore me like you did Sterling.”

“S-Shut… up…” Chain wiped his tears and stood up again, this time keeping himself stable. “Shut.. up..” he took a step towards Ivone, his eyes narrowing. He huffed. His face flushed a deep purple, the glimmer in his eyes returning for a split second.

Chain felt like he was about to vomit, probably due to the many pills he’d taken a few minutes ago, but he attacked anyways.

He leapt at the ghoul, his movements sloppy and unmeasured. He just knew to go for the throat.

“I’ll find her— I’ll find her some day—“ Chain growled, shoving Ivone off of his bed. He sliced the ghoul’s left shoulder open with his hand, his brain too overstimulated to realize. He was seeing red— wait— no— his vision was beginning to fade. Tunnel vision. His breathing got heavier as he tried to attack Ivone, not quite able to form words. He couldn’t even hear his own voice in his head.

He couldn’t make out his own voice against the noise. There were other people talking to him, and there was a loud buzzing and a ringing in his ears from the blood that— wait, when did he start bleeding?

Chain looked around the room frantically. He didn’t even recognize it. The room he’d spent so many years in was starting to fade away.

He wondered if Ivone’s face would be the last thing he saw. He glanced back over at the ghoul who now stood above him. Chain didn’t say anything. He didn’t think he had to, it was so loud. Ivone could basically see exactly what Chain was thinking.
