Happy Birthday Charlize Theron! — August 7th 1975

Faye was sitting in 4th period when the teacher relayed a message from her mother. She did as instructed, showing up at the Principal’s office not much long after. The witch had no idea what to expect, considering these visits weren’t a usual thing. Her considered worry dropped once catching a glimpse of her Mother’s expression.
”Yes?”
Dawn waited until the door was shut and they were safely tucked inside her office, before she got to the point of the matter. Naturally, the woman would have waited until Faye got home to discuss this but what with her coming and going nowadays, she couldn’t necessarily let it wait.
“I just got an interesting call a few moments ago. Did you visit my safe box in the City two weeks ago?”
There was no sense in Faye denying it. She had a hunch what her daughter was up to and what she were after. It was her actions which brought Cassie into town and fueled the circle’s magic, after all.
“Answer me.”

Her frustration was concealed with a faux smile; which she was sure Faye would catch onto and make sense of on her own. As was distinctly intended. Her backward remarks didn’t go undetected by Dawn, but she chose to refrain from offering her daughter further motivation to keep at it.
A moment later, Dawn tensed at the deduced tone in her daughter’s voice, but quickly recovered, stowing it away. “I was just curious. I have noticed you’ve been spending a great deal of time with kids, that up until a few weeks ago, you barely acknowledged. I think it’s great, you’re making new friends. And that it was my daughter, who decided she would ease our welcome newcomer’s transition. See, I told you, it wouldn’t kill you to play nice. Didn’t I?” Crossing her arms, over her chest, Dawn eyed Faye with the same level of suggestion. She wasn’t an idiot. She knew about the circle and had already predicted that the children were practicing. It was only a matter of time, before Faye began to ask questions or hinted to them, at least.
The brunette smiled with her Mother’s lofty pep talk. She and her Mother both knew it didn’t run in their blood to participate in the act of kindness as a something for nothing deal. “Yes, you did tell me. Mother always knows best.” Faye sarcastically agreed.
”You can express your gratuity toward my debit card.” She suggested in her continued, boisterous tone. Faye obviously knew that wasn’t going to happen. Her Mother was anything but a pushover. She plainly cared for appearances, and cared even less for whatever little theatrics Faye pulled off. The young witch moved for her departure, “Hear no evil, see no evil—” Her tone faded, as she turned on a foot without finishing the rest of the saying. With that, Faye left to go off and enjoy the night.
Damon slowly nodded, and flashed her a slight grin. He was aware that was all he needed to do. Besides, too many innuendos in such a short duration would be an overkill, and thus kill the mood. “Well, you can surely talk, hopefully you’ll be able to reach the bar.” Damon usually never had to sneak out for a quick fix before, his place was always big enough, or the girl wouldn’t care that Stefan was in a nearby room, and frankly, neither did he. Although, there were a few exceptions like that girl in the alleyway outside of the bar, but that wasn’t quite sneaking out, more like retaining the mood. “Sounds familiar, but still a bit foggy to my memory, do yourself a favor and put it in my GPS.”
Her instincts warned her of the possible forthcoming regret. But, Dawn was confident she could warp the situation to her advantage and achieve justification. After all she was rather resourceful. -- Without saying a word, Dawn assisted in plugging the address into his GPS and then patiently (or so as patiently as she could) sat back to enjoy the ride. “What exactly do you do for a living, Damon?”
“— I was told you needed to speak to me, Ms Chamberlain?”
“Yes, Allison. Please, have a seat.” With a formal gesture, Dawn drew attention onto the chair sitting directly across from her desk. “I was going over your transcripts and I must say, they are remarkable. Especially considering how much you’ve had to relocate over the last couple of years. I sure hope this town is one you like and get to enjoy. How has the transition been so far?”
“Come in, and close the door.”

He really hoped her better idea wasn’t a garbage can in an alleyway. After all, he couldn’t get caught for that, not again. “Actually, Christmas present, but close enough.” He immediately went to go fish his key, but instead only felt an empty pocket. Damon’s eyes immediately darted towards Dawn, who, at the moment, had his keys in her grip. “Impressive, let’s see what else those hands can do. - By the way, I’ll be taking my keys back, now.”
“Rest assured, what these hands are capable of conjuring up twenty minutes from now, rests solely on you.” She was beginning to doubt her own plans. His inclination to turn everything he or she said into some sort of innuendo made her question his maturity level. Though, she were already aware she surpassed him in that single regard. But her desperation to meet a certain end, propelled her to carry on and entertain him while necessary. “Are you familiar with Bunker road? That’s where our destination lies. It’s as private and remote as we’re going to get.”

Charles drew in a deep breath as he looked at the sky for a long moment, letting his eyes close for a brief moment as he focused on the energy from the moon. He looked back at Dawn when she spoke up, the corner of his lip quirking upwards in a half smile. “It’s about time it’s here,” he murmured, feeling his stomach churn with anticipation. Despite having checked and rechecked everything, he didn’t want to get too hopeful, just in case. He nodded in agreement and took her hands, looking at her for a long moment before chanting, “Thrughain adhar, thruagort isham.“
Excitement swelled up inside of her, sending anxious shocks all throughout her body. Dawn didn’t know what she would do, had this latest attempt turned out to be a failure. She didn’t want to feed such negative doubts in fear of jinxing it, but couldn’t suppress her anxiety. -- Holding onto his hands, Dawn sucked in a deep breath and mirrored his chant. “Thrughain adhar, thruagort isham. -- Thrughain adhar, thruagort isham. -- Thrughain adhar, thruagort isham.” The mantra continued as Dawn tightened her grip and saw the crystal illuminate. From what she could tell, it appeared to be working. At least for a little bit before it all abruptly stopped. In a panic, Dawn released his hands and grabbed the crystal to feel around it as if chasing the magic it started to produce but hadn’t anymore. “No, no, no...!” She yelled; frustrated. “This can’t be happening. No. No.. why is this happening?”

Charlize Theron + style.
“Oh, I do.” After all, it was certainly not the first time he’d heard that. “Well, unfortunately, I cannot tell you that. Although, I’m fairly certain that Stefan isn’t home anyway.” He said casually, although he knew there was still a chance that Stefan was just lounging around there. Damon was usually the one who wasn’t home, but this would be pretty worth it.
She quirked a brow as she contemplated whether or not the risk was worth it. “On second thought, I have a better idea.” Upon brief glance, Dawn spotted what she presumed was the form of car keys wedged beneath his pocket. Without saying a word, she closed in on him and slid a hand inside to swipe the set, before holding them hostage as she inspect the make and model and headed for the door. “Ooh nice. Let me guess, birthday present? -- By the way, we’ll take yours. There’s a lake house not too far from here. It’s pretty vacant. No room for interruptions. What do you say, Damon?” With a devious grin, she stopped beside his car and baited him with the keys.
“Oh, I have a feeling that I won’t disappoint. How private?” Damon asked, his voice trailing off towards the end. He could only imagine the look on Charles’ face.
“Trust me when I say I’m not worried. And I’d prefer someplace private enough where we’ll be the single party of two. Please, tell me you live alone. Because I don’t.” Anywhere she wouldn’t be caught or seen by someone she knew, was good enough for her. Especially because Charles would freak if he knew or heard that she was enlisting outside sources for help. But, she was desperate and powerless and he wasn’t doing it for her.
