There he could tell, was something about him quite intriguing and the monstrosity knew it, he could sense it. Though his silent scanning detected no viral nature of Cole, human, the dragon knew, he was not.
The beast raised a quizzical bejeweled brow at the bit about bringing an army forth, should the little man have plans of dethroning him, and at this the monster let loose another sinister cachinnation.
I believe the correct word is a banquet! For my people and I you see. I donât really do well with the practice of war, I end up eating everyone. When the scent of blood in the air is thick enough I loose myself and indulge savagely.â
Settling back down the beast flicked his tongue in and out of his devilish grin, and seemed to take an interest in what the chancellor had to say next. An alliance? Right away the behemoth was about to object, seeing that he had formed the ultimate alliance with his king and brother, Virus. But he paused and thought on it further..
It wasnât often sprites from other games or worlds came to him for such a request, and this could certainly be something good in the dragon lordâs favor.
âAn alliance you say~?â the monarch crooned, snaking his tail behind the green suited ambassador. Now that Chancellor Cole had piqued his interest Alexander was hellbent on having the chancellor stay for a while. The dragonâs greedy mind automatically lulling to the thought of possible riches, more riches. He was already stupidly wealthy, but more was always welcomed.
âI am most interested in your offer my good man, how can I eat such a gentleman whose flattery pleases me as much as his mannerssss~â
Without further ado, the titanic tyrant of âSilverâs Paradoxâ shrank down in a vial of shimmering scales, downsizing into his humanoid form. Though compact, this form was still a powerful force to be reckoned with.
Giving the chancellor a respectable bow with a sweep of his cape, the beast-man lifted and flashed him a toothy grin, his single gold fang sparkling in the light.
âCome with me, I would like hear you offer.â
Just as Lord Candycane had ushered Cole to come along Min T gasped, tugging at his cape, wanting to impose for he knew what he saw. And Coleâs warning of a glare did nothing to calm the bunny monster. Fortunately for the chancellor the monarch would have none of Min Tâs shenanigans, as the butler was swatted across the head, and tossed along ahead of he beast.
âOff with you you infernal little miscreation, gather the servants and prepare a feast at once!â
It would seem the dragon lord had forgotten about the burnt grass, as his mind was clouded by his greed.
The Chancellor let himself be led with an uneasy silence, pulse thudding noisily in his chest. The size difference between the two of them, even with his host in a more compact form, still uneased him. And the ease in which he changed form! Jealousy burned in the chancellorâs mind as he thought about how he had to apply at least a dozen spells of glamour to pass as human and still need the ridiculous hats and this blighter could just poof into a different shape. The injustice.
âI do thank you for listening to the humble words of a ruling figure such as myself. My wish is to serve anyone higher in power than myself and, if you are at all offended by whatever transgressions occurred at my hand, I will make sure my part of the deal is that much more rewarding to Your Greatness.â he graciously returned back.
While he was led to a place where he would most assuredly be walking a thin line between untold power and a gory demise, Cole decided to look on the positives lest he lose his gentlemanly poise. He was still alive; that was a major plus. The vicious viscount of villainous voracity seemed amused with him for the time being; another plus. No mind-reading capabilities from his draconic host; indubitably a plus. There was still a chance to turn this around. Maybe Malladus had a new minion or maybe he can serve this man instead of Malladus. Demons, dragons, theyâre basically the same thing, right?
Despite his gut-burning fear, a grin began to form on his face. It was the kind of sharp, fangy grin that would put a Chesire Cat to shame.
âWith all due respect, I really do think I can be a more valuable partner than your rabbit âchumâ ever could be.â he said, hoping to give more reasons to keep him alive while downplaying the incident that occurred between him and Min T. He wasnât sure how tempting of a morsel he was. He also wasnât sure how much Lord Candycane suspected his true nature, but he imagined demon meat tasted horrible.
âLast I checked, the long-earred bloke didnât have any connections to royalty, an entire ring of aristocracy wrapped around his little finger, and several gold, silver, and ruby mines in operation under his name.â he bragged. He began to play with his cufflinks in a show of nonchalance. It was rather forced show since he was still sweating nervously.
âIf you do decide to eat me, I will consider your judgement to be the best and will throw my pitiful human body into your gaping maw. But you will also lose out on having an entire continentâs worth of riches delivered to your doorstep. Just throwing that out there rather casually. Mmmyes...â
