Mystake appreciation post because I have a feeling the fandom doesn't appreciate her enough and even care that much about her

I'm so upset that she never even got a funeral scene or was even mentioned again in the show except for s11 with the flashback of the serpentine getting banished

That's THE WOMAN who canonically killed the other oni warlords (aka, basically saving the fsm), probably one of the first Ninjago civilians, and then sacrificed her life for Lloyd and Ninjago, the realm she fell in love with

She also gave the traveler's tea to ninja (basically SAVING THEM FROM THE DEATH) and managed to mentor and motive Lloyd through the worst time of his life

She's the only full blooded oni we know about who went against the "oni destroy oni evil" gene

I also headcanon she babysitted Wu abd Garmadon for a while when they were kids

Am I the only one who think the reason Lloyd didn’t talk a lot about anything to koko is because she just wouldn’t listen ?

koko is the embodiment of toxic optimism , she doesn’t lisent to a word that Lloyd has to say when he is trying to explain that people are hating him and doesn’t seem to bother to bring up garmadon (even tho it makes Lloyd uncomfortable) she believes that lloyd should maintain a positive mindset no matter how dire or difficult a situation is,

Which is good , just not when Lloyd (or anyone really) is trying to have a deep conversation with her and talk about their negative feelings she often invalidate those same feelings

And every time Lloyd brings up something negative she’s always “how about no”

And when she starts taking about “meeting the real you” Lloyd isn’t even trying to debate or add more details he’s just like yeah cool ok

It’s obviously not the first time he’s having that talk with her !

Cmon guys stop acting like she’s understand and “perfect” you can do better than that <- someone who really wants to explore the negative effect koko had on Lloyd and also her own trauma

Anyway- this fandom would be a MUCH better place if Koko’s flaws her acknowledged and explored.

Like, she’s Garmadon’s ex-wife, obviously she has it rough as well. But the "smile through it" coping mechanism she has isn’t healthy and it’s not something she should be pushing onto her son.

No amount of "showing them the real you" is gonna change the opinions of people that have already decided they hate you and your entire existence solely for your bloodline. They don’t care about who Lloyd really is, they just want to project their hatred for Garmadon onto him. Because unlike Garmadon, he’s an easy target.

Look at poor Lloyd trying to smile through it. 😭

I like Koko but her flaws DEFINITELY need to be talked about and explored more.

I like the idea that Echo calls Julien “papa” rather than “father / vater”, as Zane does, because Julien created him out of longing and was “softer” with him, if I may put it that way.

I also found some inspiration in a couple of interpretations of why Julien left Echo. I decided to combine them. I just don’t believe that the Julien we were shown actually can left Echo. So I’m looking for any sort of excuse that make sense.
