i get hyperfixated on characters and within like a week im just known as the Character Guy among my mutuals. i became known as the Sensei Wu Guy in the same timeframe it took for me to start hyperfixating on wu in the first place
Similarities between Lloyd and his uncle are so cool and heartbreaking.
I mean they both share blonde hair but theres also a lot of narrative parallels, for example, when Wu was 9 he broke a serpentine treaty and nearly caused a war. When Lloyd was 9 he opened the serpentine tombs.
Wu and Lloyd also get betrayed. Think Harumi and Aspheera as a consequence to their actions with the serpentine.
They both suffer from high expectations. Wu with his father and living up to his expectations of being better because he blames himself for his brother’s venom and Lloyd facing high expectations as the green ninja. Both face them at a very young age!
Both of them fight Garmadon. I’m thinking of the battle between brothers and the prophesied final battle.
And now… Lloyd seems to be paving the way to parallel his uncle with their first students by placing high expectations on them and making them resent them. (If it wasn’t clear i’m talking Morro and Arin)
And they both do this because of generational trauma and expectations. Dragons/oni war -> FSM -> Wu and Garmadon -> Lloyd (and Morro) -> Arin
liking a ship but disliking the distinct set of stock fanon that they have been assigned is like one of those punishments dante came up with when he wrote the worldbuilding for hell in inferno
