severely deficient in whatever vitamin makes u a person
knowing that the past tense of "hang" is "hanged" when it's a method of execution can be very entertaining because you'll be watching a horror movie and someone goes "local legend says a woman was hung in these woods" and you're like "👀 good for her I guess"
sent this message to my coworker today and he sent me this screenshot with microsoft teams's suggested replies... incredible 10/10 no notes.

Character duo where one *remembers I don’t like fitting characters into trope boxes* is a completely fleshed out and realised person *remembers treating characters as real people and not story devices written with intent is bad* who is written by the author and *remembers death of the author* uh. And *fumbles and drops my pile of queue cards* ah fuck wait no *the menacing horse* what was that.
What do you mean “chat” is now referring to ChatGPT and not twitch chat? What? What? What the fuck? No?
When I address chat I am speaking to a presumed Greek chorus of real human people shitposting on their lunch break, not a machine that devours lakes to covert electricity into slop.
There's something so flavorful about season 0 yami characterization and as much as a love yami from regular yugioh I will always kind of mourn who he was in s0. He's a little malevolent gremlin spirit but he's actually more complex than that?? Like I remember watching this one episode where he's talking to his opponent about taking care of pets and he says something like "taking care of it isn't enough, you also have to *love* it" like I find it so interesting that this spirit, who has been shown to enjoy punishment/violence (even if it is to those he deems deserving) also genuinely holds the moral belief that if you are responsible for another life that simply watching over it isn't enough. That there must also be LOVE there, I find it so juicy that he acknowledges that love is necessary. And it makes me wonder how that idea could've grown had we got more seasons, and let me be clear. This isn't me saying that yami saw yugi as his pet, but he is, in a certain way, taking CARE of him. How would this moral belief affect yami once he came to the full realization that him and yugi are separate people? (iirc yami in the beginning of 0 didn't realize that he and yugi were 2 different ppl, he thought he WAS yugi and that all of yugis friends were his, im assuming that this is because he has no memories and just kind of got BOMBED with yugis when they bonded thus the confusion but plz correct me if im wrong) anyways, I just find alot of yamis s0 character to be so fascinating! I would've loved to see how their bond developed if s0 got more seasons and how yami himself developed.
he's deranged he has a life-threatening gambling addiction he plays with fire and eagerly subjects himself to electric shocks and vivid hallucinatory nightmare strangulation. he also crucially has a big heart and LOVES his friends and would do literally anything for them.
i think s0 yami is so precious because of how little we know. you're right, for all he knows and for all we know, he's just Yugi 2 the pre-sequel. Same squishy face, same stepping stool height profile, same love for games and toys and his friends.
I like that none of it is stated outright. It's all just skillfully implied through his dialogue and actions, and left to the audience's imagination. i especially love when the mask cracks and he starts spiralling into a Pharaoh Atem's Signature Anxiety Attack only for the power of friendship to reel him back in.
i would have loved to see more of s0 and watch yami evolve. he's just a little ghostie he shouldn't be at the card game tournament, he should be at the bowling alley jammin' out to eurobeat and hitting strike after strike under the fluorescent lights. he should be dooming street thugs to an eternity in the nth-dimensional Hopscotch Duat. he should be playing mario party and killing people for real with his bare fucking hands
HELLO I LOVE ALL YOUR ART!!
I really love the style of Yugioh you draw, when learning to draw for art like Yugioh characters what was your process?
I lost my motivation for art with depression and chronic pain making me unable to use my fingers/mobility altogether for 3/4 of each day.
But you inspire me, I really want to get back into drawing. Do I have to learn realistic anatomy before anime characters? I always wondered how people can switch between realism and anime because the eyes being so large....where do they sit on the face compared to real human eyes, they're so different, is it trial and error? Studying the source material? 🙏 any advice/tips is welcome. I have a tablet but only procreate (which I loathe but can't afford clip studio).
HI HELLO THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! OK TIME FOR ART ADVICE!
It's a lot of both trial and error, and studying source material. But mostly it's about SHAPES.
You're looking for shapes. Find ways to break down complex looking things cough cough Yugi's hair into simpler components. This goes for everything. Anime style, realism, anywhere in between. SHAPES SHAPES SHAPES. Focus less on nailing down a specific style, and more on just getting really really good at drawing the same basic shapes from different angles.
Then you can start looking for those shapes in your favorite character's designs. As a good example of what I'm referring to, here's a tutorial I did on some seemingly complicated shoulder armor. The secret is, it's all just good ol' familiar shapes at the end of the day. Squares and circles and triangles, curves and corners. If you master those, then you can build whatever you want out of them.
As for more general advice: If you look back at art you made a year ago and think "oh yuck how on earth did I think that looked good" then that's FANTASTIC, because that means you've improved. Even better if you can actually describe what you think looks wonky.
For the love of all that is good in this world, DON'T BE A PERFECTIONIST. It will make you loathe your own art. Over time my art has gotten messier and messier, because I've realized that I consistently like my own work more when I'm not fussing over every line and brushstroke.
This is especially true with chronic pain, and VERY true with hand pain etc. Speaking from experience (nerve damage in my drawing arm) being a perfectionist hurts every part of you, not just mentally.
Crucially, don't be mean to yourself. Always draw inspiration, always seek to make something that you yourself like, everyone else be damned. Don't call your own art slop or garbage or anything of the sort. Nothing productive comes from putting yourself down like that.
Procreate is more than sufficient for getting back into art!! Far better app than what I'm using that's for sure LMAO. The real trick is to try out all of the tools and see which ones feel best to use, the ones that make you want to keep drawing. As long as you're having fun, the learning process comes naturally.
Good luck!!! And don't forget to take breaks and do stretches for your drawing health!! (THIS USER IS A MASSIVE HYPOCRITE)
guess what i learned yesterday.
