Snuck a selfie this morning at the gym in between sets of squats. 80lbs today.
I changed my mind and then I changed my life ❤
Beautiful sky at 5:30 this morning on my way to the gym. Got the app for Stronglifts and I love that it will keep track of my weights and everything for me. Very successful 2nd week on the program. I got a little wobbly in my bench press so I only did 4 reps in one of the sets.
Another awesome day in the green! So glad work let us go home early because the power was out so I could get my Zumba on. Now setting the alarm for 4:50 for weight lifting tomorrow morning.
Time to Face Reality
I was going back in My Fitness Pal and exactly one year ago today I weighed the same that I weighed last week. I had lost almost 10 lbs in August and September of last year, but have gained and maintained that weight since then. It's disappointing that the last year has been pointless in terms of my health. I still went to the gym pretty regularly but with no drive and no heart in it, I was just going through the motions. I am paying for a better gym now because my health is worth it. I am worth it. I will use that gym to my full potential.
Here are my new goals:
1) Continue with the StrongLifts 5x5 program to build muscle and strength. 2) Go to Zumba every Tuesday because I love Zumba and it's great cardio. 3) Over the weekend, if Jeff and I don't do something physical (hike, walk, etc) participate in one of the fitness classes or go swimming at the gym. 4) Continue to track my food to keep me accountable for what I'm putting in my body.
You'll notice these are not weight-loss based goals. I want to lose weight on this journey, but I'm more interested in being healthy and feeling good.

If you’re like me and love pumpkin flavored things, you have to try this. Pumpkin pie “nice cream”. So good. Tastes just like pumpkin pie. Here’s the recipe:
3 bananas, frozen 1/2 cup of 100% pure pumpkin purée, also frozen 3 tbs nutmeg 3 tbs ground cinnamon 2 packets of stevia in the raw (optional) Crushed walnuts (also optional)
I recommend freezing the bananas for at least 2.5 hours to make sure that the nice cream turns out closer to the consistency of actual ice cream. I’m thinking about using this as a filling for a frozen vegan pumpkin pie. I’m gonna test it and get back to all of you. PUT THIS IN YOUR MOUF.

It's just a touch too early for pumpkin-flavored things. But that season is quickly approaching...will be saving this for later!
8/13/2014 - Weigh In Wednesday
Oh does it feel so good to be in control of my health again. Not that I ever really lost the long term focus, but for a bit there I wasn't giving it all in my workouts and I wasn't tracking calories/macros. I just joined a new gym and have started weight lifting. I'm excited about the program I'm setting up for myself and am looking forward to getting stronger!
Last week: 198.4 lbs This week: 197.6 lbs
Week's loss: 0.8 lbs
It's a start! I'm just happy to lose anything to feel good about myself in time for Vegas in two weeks!
That's what I call a good day! All in the green!
