saw a post the other day complaining about people who analyze iwtv/tvl in great detail and make meta posts and how it’s only this way bc of how little we are being given and yes i’m biased as a maker of those types of posts but i find that so ridiculous. regardless of how much we are given as the audience, it’s still interesting, fun, and important to be analyzing things. media is meant to be dissected. especially on tumblr. and i personally think it builds community discussion which is such a bedrock of fandom. even if we’re occasionally wrong in our interpretations it’s still a worthwhile pursuit. like, why wouldn’t you want to see a really cool post about historical context or art references or a character’s background or religious imagery or parallels from different episodes or things in the background of shots that are actually important, etc; ?? why would you not want that, it’s literally so fucking cool?!!

I personally love to analyze the art they use as set dressing in the background. Theres been a couple times where art in the background has hinted at future reveals or the mental state of characters. Id argue that is one of many things deliberately put in to reward detailed viewing. And that is why i love this show.
