The units that go with the subjects just specify what level I’m doing them at, so unit 1&2 subjects are generally year eleven subjects, and units 3&4 are year twelve. Unit 1 is the first semester of the subject, unit 2 is the second semester, and then unit 3 is the first semester of the second year, with unit 4 being the final semester of the subject. All of the subjects listed above apart from biology I will be completing units 1&2 this year, before moving on to units 3&4 next year. The reason I am doing biology at unit 3&4 level this year is because it is a subject that you can do ‘accelerated’, meaning you do it as a year eleven subjects (units 1&2) in year ten, and then do it as a year twelve subject (units 3&4) in year eleven. Doing biology accelerated has been really good for me, as it has shown me what a VCE subject is like, and finishing it in year eleven will mean I’m only doing 5 subjects in year twelve, meaning I’ll have five free periods (a period is 45 minutes at my school) a week.
