Today was my first day of school as a junior, not really fun guys 😒
24/1/21, 15:38
Today I’ve been working on some biology flashcards. Usually I wouldn’t do flashcards (I’m somewhat of a perfectionist, so they take ages) but this was a task set by my teacher and I’m actually finding them quite useful.
Today is a good day to do homework, as it’s something like 38 degrees (celsius) outside, so nothing else is fun.

High School Junior Advice
Here I am with the junior advice! I’m not going to talk too much about the first few days of school since you’ve already had 2 years of experience. Well here you guys go! :)
Academics:
Really pay attention in your classes this year. Especially if you’re in honors classes.
If you haven’t taken your freshman and sophomore year seriously, now is the time to start taking things serious.
Classes are going to get difficult and you’re going to get assignments piled up on you. Tip: Finish the assignments that are due sooner, first. That way you have more time to finish other assignments that are due at a later date without having to worry about the ones that are due sooner.
Start thinking about what college you want to go to (if you want to go to college), and what you want to do when you’re older. Everyone is going to ask those types of questions all the time so be prepared for that.
You’re gonna want to keep a schedule of when you do things because school will take over your life if you don’t have good time management.
If you’re in a sport or a club that requires you to meet up very often, then you really need to balance out the time you take when you do homework.
Ask for recommendation letters early if you can. That way, you won’t have to worry about it your senior year.
Talk to your counselors about what you plan to do in the future because they will help you out. Ask them about what classes you should take.
Study for the ACT/SAT as soon as possible because colleges are going to really pay attention to your scores.
Self-Care:
This is going to be one of your most stressful years so remember to relax every once in a while.
Don’t let work get to you, you’ll get through this. Before you even know it, you’ll be a senior :)
If you’re stressed out, do some exercises that will help ease that stress.
Remember to spend time with your friends and family. I know it’ll seem like school is taking over, but don’t let it.
Miscellaneous:
You’re finally an upperclassmen now! You may think that freshman are annoying, but that doesn’t mean you have the right to bully them.
You’ll most likely find your group of friends this year.
Nothing too exciting is going to happen this year. You’re mostly going to be focused on prepping for big tests and getting prepared to look at colleges.
For some schools, juniors get to go to prom! You should go with your friends if you don’t have a date ;)
Junior year goes by fast, even if it doesn’t seem like it sometimes. Make it count!
And finally, don’t try to rush your junior year, you’re going to be a senior in no time :) so cherish it
And there we go, junior advice is complete! I’m not going to make one for seniors because I make these posts from my own personal experiences I’ve had in school. Since I’m going to be a senior, I can’t make realistic advice for you guys :( But that’s okay because I might post one a year from now! Sorry to anyone who is going to be a senior and is looking for advice!
My most recent mantra has been “junior year will be over soon junior year will be over soon junior year will be over soon”
It’s not helping
Now that it’s been two weeks of summer and I’ve caught up on my sleep enough, I have been really wondering wtf was that school year…. Wdym in the span of junior year my
- first girlfriend broke up with me the same week (and day) my beloved 16 year old cat passed away
- mom almost died (4 weeks later mind you)
-said ex started dating a friend of mine (same week my mom almost died)
-got the flu & consistent migraines
-genuinely started losing my mind
-somehow managed to get 35 volunteer hours the very week they were due (week of the SAT btw)
- my mom almost died AGAIN for a different reason
Still got all A’s throughout this tho 😛
smth that always gets me so annoyed is when teachers play a video, then try to talk/yell over it to say stuff
like omfg JUST PAUSE IT OR SMTH
