“You’re insane Willow.” Erebus says with a shake of his head bu he orders himself a drink anyway. “But really, you should have a seat before you fall over and maybe take it easy with the drinks.”
Eris hops down and pulls on Erebus’ tie. “No. And you should definitely drink much more then just that.” She said tilting her head to his new drink. “Let loose for once in this life.”
“Is this how you usually spend your Tuesday nights? Getting obnoxiously drunk?” Erebus asked with an amused grin.
“Is it Tuesday? What does it matter? Join me you stiff!”
Her nose scrunched at the smell of smoke, but it was inescapable as it was everywhere. She rolled her eyes at her remark before continuing, “I came to see how you’ve been.” She wanted to check up on her daughter, see what kind of trouble she was meddling into. She figured she would find Eris at some biker bar.
Eris raised an eyebrow and spread her arms out wide. “You’ve come, you’ve seen but I’ve noticed how you haven’t actually concurred anything. Can I offer you a drink Babe? Maybe that way you can concur something in this life.”
“Really, dear? It’s a Tuesday night and you’re getting drunk?”
Eris’ celebrating was cut short when she heard the distinct disapproving tone. With a scowl she hopped down from the table she was standing on and crossed her arms over her chest. “Oh yeah? And what are you doing here grandma?”
“Fuck yeah! Beat that bitches!”
“Are you through!?” The last of her calm diminished under the other’s taunting. So very unlike herself, Persephone knew this had to be the work of whatever power the goddess had obtained like the rest of them. Eyes glared angrily at Eris in fury before shifting to her surroundings, worried that others would see their exchanged. Persephone straightened herself, doing her best to fight it though she felt the more she fought, the harder it was to rid herself of the toxic rage.
Eris’ grin widened as she gave a small shrug. “Is what I say next really what’s keeping you here? Who knew you’d wait to be dismissed.” She raised an eyebrow. “Get lost babe. Unless you’re looking for me to take this feeling away.” She knew she wouldn’t take it back, even if Persephone asked but she was really enjoying this taunting.
Peitho felt a little shocked. Eris. But everything was so blurry. Even she believed the dream was a part of her latest problems in Morpheus’ house. “Hello… I am.. not sure…” She could not avoid it. “Do we know each other?” She needed to know what exactly happened.
Eris raised an eyebrow. “I’m not in the habit of making friends, let alone acquaintances so I’m gonna throw it out there and say, fuck no.” She did look familiar though, it was she was back in that fucking dream. But she was being truthful in her answer, no one knew the real Eris. She liked to think there was a bit of mystery to herself.
“If it wouldn’t jeopardize my career and get me in trouble with the head honcho–I probably would."Nike muttered, realizing Eris was in her vicinity.
Eris sneered, her nose scrunching up. “You’re priorities have gone to hell in this lifetime Babe. You’ve lost sight of the finish line because you think you need someone else to show it to you. You used to be more accretive with your success, more of a I take what I want, when I want. What’s that saying? Victory is mine and all that shit. Yeah, well it would be if you just took what you want.”
Persephone felt a shift in her composure as the Goddess met her eyes with fury. It was a creeping sensation of doubt, maybe fear, though not fear of Eris but something else. She fought it, brows furrowed for just a moment before she spoke again.
“I do not wish to have followers–” her eyes, though normally would have held its own, looked away from the Goddess. What was going on? She felt irritation, aggression, something Persephone always kept in check. Her brain searched for an answer as to why, of all people there was something about Eris that made her.. uneasy, combative.
“Are you through?” A sharp voice found itself through Persephone’s lips as angry eyes glared back, wanting to cut this conversation short. She didn’t like feeling… affected.
“Am I what?” Eris said with a smile as she leaned back. She didn’t want to use her ability on Persephone. Surely if Hades found out, who knows what he’d do but Persephone pushed her to this outcome. Now Eris wanted to revel in it for a bit. Being difficult was a bit of a specialty she acquired well before her twelfth birthday.
A humorless laugh escaped his lips, unfazed by her attitude. “Yet I ended up back here– I suppose someone had to retake the reigns.” He silently gestured to the seat across from him. “Coffee? Black, if I remember correctly?”
Eris nods and plops unceremoniously into the seat across from him. “Black like my heart.” She smiled and rolled her eyes. “Speaking of reins, have you thought about handing them off to someone?”
She smiles, though is doesn’t reach her eyes. “Now why ever would I do that?”
Eris’ anger was really starting to get to her, but never one to really back down she leaned forward glaring into her eyes. “Because even if you’re Hades’ Queen, that doesn’t mean you have the followers. Nor will your relationship with him ever guarantee it.” She said infusing her power in her voice.
Peitho was not sure if was a good idea be alone in the street but the weather is good and she needed fresh air to clear her mind. She needed to decide exactly what will be her plan. Walking she saw a familiar face, but she was not sure. Was she in disposal to a conversation? Maybe could be good.
Seeing Peitho outside of her dream was a bit of a head trip. When Peitho actually acknowledges her Eris’ face scrunches up. “Hi. Are you lost?”
Hades sat with perfect posture, eyes quickly scanning the newspaper in his hands in attempt to catch up on all that he’d missed while in Greece. Though the opposite being was quiet when they drew closer, the god of the underworld felt their presence before any words had been spoken. “Ah,” he exhaled before meeting their gaze, “yet another thing I didn’t miss whilst away.”
Eris scoffed crossing her arms over her chest. “Yeah, well at least you got the fuck away.”
The very presence of Nike being anything other than a snarky bitch is enough to send alarms ringing. Her co-workers carefully tread around the female as if she would snap any time soon. “Okay, people enough! I’m not going to kill you. I’m just happy. Damn it.” Nike soon grumbled, feeling petty enough to actually scare some people now.
“Disgusting.” Eris said as she watched people back away from Nike. “I hope you kill them.”
Some things never change it that was Eris’ personality. Persephone blinked at the goddess before her, unimpressed and emotionless before speaking once again. “Then my apologies. Are you enjoying your day Ms. Kennedy?”
Once again when she says her mortal name Eris’ nose scrunches up. “I would enjoy it oh so much more if you’d stop calling me Ms. fucking Kennedy.”
Eyes grow dark as a voice calls out from a tree. Persephone glanced over and recognized one of her many half-sisters. But also a loyal informant to Hades. “I’d watch my tone if I were you Ms. Kennedy.” Her voice is calm and unaffected but serves just the right amount of warning almost equal to that of Hades’.
Eris smirks at her tone, though when she calls her Ms Kennedy, Eris’ nose scrunches up a bit. She’s used to that very same tone and while it obviously seeks respect Eris likes to push that envelope. “What tone? This is how I usually speak ma’am.” She says with a smirk.
*arrives back from Greece and takes Cerberus for a walk around the park*
Eris is sitting under a tree smoking a cigarette when she sees Persephone. “Does your overbearing husband know you’re out and about in the sunshine or does he think you’re plotting some elaborate escape?”
