“Well, firstly, the water is cold! Secondly, you don’t actually drink hot water when there are bubbles in it, do you?  I really hope you don’t, you’re going to burn your throat if you do that.”

“Obviously not, do you think I want to lose my voice or be in massive pain? I’m just saying, I’m sure it’s not that impressive.”

Charity shrugged, internally wondering whether Lucius actually cared about anything other than himself.

“You don’t have to, but it’s interesting. Can you imagine that ? Water with bubbles ?”

Gosh these people that genuinely like muggles were so interested and amused with the simplest things. A few spheres with air inside them floating in their water, he didn’t find anything particularly interesting about it.

“Well, doesn’t the same thing happen when we heat our water for tea? There’s plenty of bubbles in that water, what’s so different about it?”

Charity’s eyes widdened in amazement at the boy. Sometimes, she almost forgot that some at Hogwarts actually knew or lived in the muggle world.

“It must be weird, right ? Is it any good ?”

“Sure if you don’t mind the bubbles tickling your lips.” Remus replied then lifted both his brows thoughtfully. “If you want I could OWL my mum to send some? Then you can have a taste for yourself to see.”

“ Are you kidding? I would love that! “ Charity’s smiled widened, and she felt a strong urge to jump up in joy. “ I mean, that would be perfect! I can’t even imagine how that must taste- or feel I guess. How to they even put bubbles in water, though? Do you have to put them in yourself, or do you just by them like that? How do the bubbles even stay in the bottle? Wouldn’t they just go away when you open the bottle?”

‘ Really? I thought they were creating with their mouths those bubbles, with some tehniques- I guess I was wrong.’

Charity frowned.

“ I could be wrong... I mean, it does sound like a lot of work to create the bubbles in their mouths, but then how do they even put them in their drinks, without using magic? I can’t even think of how they would do it with magic...”

“Really?” Kingsley asked, instantly grateful for a conversation that didn’t revolve around the Hogsmeade incident. “That seems like it’d get uncomfortable to drink though, wouldn’t it?”

Charity shrugged.

"Apparently they really like it," she explained. " I read about it in a book about muggles, but I don't know how it actually work. Do you think we'd be able to replicate that with magic ?"

      “You don’t really seem like the loud type,” Lucinda stated, taking in the Hufflepuff girl, who she believed was a year below her own. She was unfamiliar to her, which only made her interested. The school book nearby told her she was likely studying or doing some required reading as well. “Unless you’re going to prove me wrong, I don’t mind if you stay.”

Charity was grateful for the other girl’s attitude. Although she would gladly have given her her place, she wasn’t too enthusiastic about the prospect of moving all the way to the common room. But she certainly didn’t mind sharing her space with someone.

“I think it should be fine,” she said, smile still plastered on her face.

        Tragedy or no tragedy, there was no way Lucinda would get out of the History of Magic essay that had to be done before tomorrow, but with all the distraught students clogging up public spaces, she was struggling to find a place to do her work, and had made her way towards a quiet alcove on the third floor instead. 

       “Oh,” She barely contained the disappointment that filled her when she noticed this spot was also taken. “Sorry, hadn’t meant to disturb.”

Char smiled at the Slytherin. She was reading a book-not about muggles, for a change, but a required reading for school, and had managed to find a quiet place free from the noisy first years. But from the distressed face of the girl in front of her, she decided that she might as well let her have the place and just come back to her comon room.

" No, it's okay! I was just about to leave anyway, if you need to sit here."

Seeing as how Antonin was stopped from going outside, he still needed to find a place to have his smoke break. Indoors or out, no one would stop him, his hourly dose of nicotine was important for his sanity. Tucking away his cigarette behind his ear, he pulled his lighter out of his pocket and lit it, watching the flame before it blew away and repeating. He preferred lighters over his wand, the fire was nice to look at. 

Where to go… He wasn’t sure where exactly he’d be most comfortable having his smoke, he was used to leaning against the castle walls with grass at his feet. Eventually he found himself at the doorway of the broom closet. He hadn’t even thought about going inside, instead he leaned against the door-frame and pulled the cig back out from behind his ear and placing it between his lips, creating a spark that was used to set it aflame. He felt peering eyes, causing him to look up and glare, “Do you have a fucking problem?”

Charity couldn't help but state as the boy lit a cigaret. She wasn't even sure if these were even allowed on Hogwarts, and hated them anyway, but she was curious about why anyone would like them. But what had caught her attention was the lighter in the boy's hand. Most people just used their wands, and she had never seen anyone use one before.

She jumped up when she realized the boy had noticed her, but he spoke before she could have the chance to leave.

"N-no... I.. I was just..." she tried to explain herself, distressed.

‘Bubbles?‘ Alice echoed curiously, eyebrows raised and a faint smile tugging at her lips. She’d always been relatively curious about the differences in Muggle culture to their own, coming from a magical line herself. ‘Like soap bubbles? That seems silly. And terribly inconvenient, actually. Why in Merlin’s beard would they do that?’

Charity laughed.

" No, not soap bubbles!.I don't think so, at least?" she said, frowning. " From what I've read, they don't have a taste, they just sting. But I've never seen them myself, so I wouldn't know for sure."

“Do you mean pop? My mum likes to drink it, but we didn’t have much of it around.” Remus peeped up at the girl with a slow smile, as he took a bite from his chocolate bar. At least she wasn’t talking about anything moon-related thanks Merlin.
