‘Bubbles?‘ Alice echoed curiously, eyebrows raised and a faint smile tugging at her lips. She’d always been relatively curious about the differences in Muggle culture to their own, coming from a magical line herself. ‘Like soap bubbles? That seems silly. And terribly inconvenient, actually. Why in Merlin’s beard would they do that?’

“See, this is exactly why I asked you. I knew you’d tell me exactly what I wanted to hear.” Lily replied, lips quirking up into a small grin. Her mum sent her pens and paper whenever she asked, anyway, so she didn’t need to stop by Scrivenshafts for the essentials. She had always preferred muggle writing utensils, both for the fact it was a much cheaper options and pens were so much easier to use than a quill and ink, and she thought quills and parchment were awfully outdated. 

Alice merely grinned, expression brightening as Lily responded. She’d always had a soft spot for the girl ( not that she didn’t have a soft spot for nearly everyone ) and today was no different. ‘Well, I’m glad to know my expertise is appreciated. I’m basically a professional sugar connoisseur at this point, so I’m pretty much always going to convince you that you need more sweets.’

‘Oh, come on!‘ The blonde girl’s voice was light and airy, but her impatient tone was breaking through, her Scouse accent becoming more prominent. She’d finally made it through all of Honeydukes, miraculously finding everything she needed, but it turned out paying for her things and leaving was an entirely different story. She was surrounded by throngs of people far larger and taller than her, all but disappearing in the crowd. ‘I swear to Merlin, if I don’t get to eat one of these Chocolate Frogs I’m going to do something drastic.’ Alice grumbled, her dire tone lessened as she hopped in the air to try and get a view of the shop.

Frank couldn’t help himself but chuckle at her attempted joke- this little things were those that made his heart flutter and his grin widen even more if possible. He leaned down and brushed his lips against her temple fondly, leaving a small kiss there just because he couldn’t control himself from being away from her contact for long. ‘ Honeydukes is it then. Let me know if you get called, alright?’ he spoke softly as he took it as his mission to lead them towards the said shop. He agreed with the idea- he needed to add some sugar quills to his secret stash as well; the stash was just in case she remained with none and he needed to provide some for her.

He widened his eyes at her question,  he did got the joke, but he took the response quiet seriously. He always did when it came to her safety. ‘ I won’t trust Sirius with anything Quidditch related- he hit his supposed lover with a bludger! He ain’t to be trusted. And while I admire James’ skills- I believe your arms around my waist is the best option we’ve got. So, fixing my broom is now even higher on my list. ’

Alice beamed up at him as he pressed his lips to her skin, her heart beating out a happy little tempo it only ever did when Frank was around. She held onto his hand just a little firmer, the pad of her thumb drawing invisible patterns on his hand, a silent gesture to let him know she was happy, to let him know it was him that made her happy. She merely smiled and followed along, glancing up at him every now and then with what was probably the most silly and smitten expression she’d ever managed. It was going to be a good weekend.

It was just a silly joke, but she gave him a soft and reassuring smile. Even if it was something small like this, she hated worrying him, even if he did look adorable when he was concerned about her. Alice couldn’t help but snort as he mentioned Sirius. ‘Why does that not surprise me?’ She laughed as she leant into him, all smiles. Her face brightened then, grinning up at him. ‘Like this?’ Alice murmured quietly, a little breathless as she tugged her hand from his so she could slide her arms around his waist, leaning into him fully.

“One of the hardest decisions to make is whether to spend all the pocket money mum sent me for this weekend on vanilla fudge, or whether to split it between that and sugar quills.” She turned to the person beside her, “What d’you think?”

A smile twisted at Alice’s lips as she glanced at Lily, amusement stretching across her face. ‘I know I’m supposed to say the responsible thing which is to save it for the necessities,’ Alice’s grin merely doubled in size, ‘but I’m definitely going to blow all my earnings on sugar, so you probably shouldn’t ask for my honest opinion.’

Frank’s smile brigthened as he interwined his fingers with hers, head titled to a side as he looked down at Alice- it was a rather chilly day and with his free hand, he made sure to adjust his Gryffindor scarf around her neck. He loved borrowing her his clothes, no matter how little the object in question is.  it made him proud of some reason and it made his silly wide smile even wider if possible.

 ‘ So, what are you up for today? Tea? Butterbear? Sweets? Your wish is my literal command as long as we go to the Quidditch supplies shop as well because I need to get something from my broom- I think that the last Quidditch game kind of hurt my baby broom a bit.’

Ever since first year, Hogsmeade trips had become one of her favourite things. In fifth year, after becoming Prefect, she looked forward to them even more; No duties, no docking house points or handing out detentions, just fun. Hogsmeade weekends were one of her favourite things, but Hogsmeade weekends with Frank, his fingers threaded between hers, her head leaning against his shoulder as they walked, was her favourite thing of all. Her smile turned crooked as he reached up, feeling ridiculously warm where his fingers brushed against her skin as he played with his scarf around her neck. Yeah, she thought fondly, definitely my favourite.

‘Well, I’d say you’re all the sweet I need, but I’m running low on Sugar Quills, so Honeydukes is a must.’ She gave him a teasing grin. ‘Well, we can’t have that, can we? Who else am I going to try to convince to gives me rides around the pitch? James? Sirius? Imagine the horrific innuendos.’ She tried to look appalled at the thought, but a smile tugged at her lips anyway.
