charlotte was born and raised san diego. she was a result of drunk high school hook up and born to two seventeen year old teenagers, hazel davis and matthew butler. her parents were just kids themselves and knew that they couldn’t give their daughter the life that she really deserved. it was one of the things that they could agree on in their nine months spent together. when they weren’t bickering over small details about each other, hazel and matthew sat down with a adoption agency and fixed many meetings with older couples who wished to adopt  but no one ever seemed right to hazel until she had met a couple named mia and nathan hudson. they couldn’t have children of their own and they had two falling outs with adoption. the pair went into this with not expecting anything but hazel reassured them that the baby she was carrying was theirs. not hers and matthew’s. 

when she had arrived in the world, she was perfect in everyway and the hudson’s family were sure that hazel and matthew was going to change her mind. although it was hard for them, they signed their rights away and it was a closed adoption. hazel and matthew moved on with their lives both moving out of san diego and creating families when they were ready and forgetting their past back in their hometown. mia and nathan didn’t plan on telling their daughter about her biological parents at all.

as a child, charlotte was always so kind and soft spoken. she was the perfect child, always doing her homework, coming home on time, and having a good relationship with her parents. she had tons of good friends, they would have sleepovers, giggle about boys, gossip about celebrities and just have the time of her life with her friends and family. though, she wished she looked like her parents more. brown eyes & brown hair. she always found it so odd but reassured that their grandparents had blue eyes and blonde hair so it was okay and that she was their daughter no matter what. 

it wasn’t until matthew’s mother had run into charlotte, 15, and hazel at the store and everything was spilled out and her walls came crashing down. the woman had been attempting to find charlotte as she felt like that was her granddaughter and wanted to know her. no matter how times matthew told her to leave it alone. she felt like she was being lied too this whole time. mia and nathan’s grandparents didn’t have blue eyes or blonde hair. it was a huge lie to keep her adoption under wraps. 

charlotte didn’t know what to feel as her parents told her everything and even showed her a picture of what hazel and matthew looked like while she was in the womb. so she made her journey to go out to meet them and see for herself without her parents permission but she was met with nothing but disappointment when she arrived at hazel’s front door and was just completely snubbed. hazel moved out of san diego to los angeles, now married with a few kids of her own and rich. she denied having any other kids. she didn’t want charlotte to ruin her perfect little world. matthew, also married with one kid on the way. he did give charlotte a hug and let her know that they did the right thing for her. 

with everything changing around her so quickly, charlotte started to act out. she started to stay out late, go to parties, being rude and disrespectful towards her parents, sneaking out when she was grounded, started drinking and smoking. mia and nathan didn’t know how to handle this but they tried for three years to get their daughter back but that charlotte was gone once she started going out and hanging out with the wrong crowd. she was introduced to the world of high school parties and college parties where life was fast and she was able to get her hand on anything and everything she could. 

when charlotte turned 18, she dropped out of high school and spent her time with her girlfriends meeting people who were bad. it wasn’t until one of her friends talked about moving to las vegas to get away from her parents and charlotte went with her. they had moved in with her friend’s boyfriend, a solider for one of the gangs in town. she got a job as a waitress at the kiss hotel and she worked there for about two years before she was fired for coming to work high. she found herself a new job working at a strip club. her friend’s boyfriend got charlotte into the gang as an informant due to her good looks, quietness, and her job plus it was a huge plus that the rivals were known to go around the clubs she worked at and she was able to get  anything from them. charlotte used her looks to get anything she wanted. 

now, charlotte is currently 23 and still doing both jobs. she is still learning and just having a fun time with her life right now. not a care in the world.

with all his being, he adored charlotte. she was the one who took him out of the dark parts of his mind, and allowed him to feel free. while they both had their rockiness, they still had some calming qualities that made him feel like they were stable enough to make things work. he still loved her even if they had off moments. his eyes looked back into hers as she caressed his face. “i want to only be with you, especially now,” he picked her up from the couch so he could hold her in his arms and sit down as well. his lips trailed kisses from her collarbone and up her neck slowly. he wanted to stay right there with her the whole time, and he felt like it’s been too long since he got to be right there with her. “you’re so incredible,” he whispered in between his lips falling back onto her skin.

charlotte adored moments of this peacefulness and calmness before the tsunami hit them. when she spent her time with brayden and things were this soft, she really learned to cherish and bask in the moment. her blue eyes scanned over his then his facial features, a gentle smile formed on her pink lips. he truly made her so happy, there was no denying it. “me too,” lottie breathed before a small giggle escaped from her mouth when he picked her up and placed her in his lap. her eyes fluttered shut as she felt the softness of her boyfriend’s lips attached themselves onto her collarbone then make their way up her neck. slowly, she took some of her hair and moved it to the side to allow him more access to her skin. “hm,” was all charlotte to say starting to feel like putty in underneath his touch.

it was like she had a spell on him, with every time they were in person, she always found a way to take his breath away. she always invaded his thoughts and he knew he was still around just because he wanted to be with her, at least that’s how he perceived those thoughts. he smirked back at her with her response, his lips kissing hers  “i can’t get you out of my mind, babe,” he answered after he broke the kiss. “i always miss you, and i’ll never not miss you.” he towered over her, his hands rest on the wall to hold himself up above her on the couch. “how do i make it up to you, princess?” he grinned down to her. “i’d love to know what you want.”

hearing his answers brought a genuine smile to her pink lips. when she first met brayden, she didn’t think this friendship would blossom into something like this but yet here she was under him and he is causing for her stomach to twist and turn in a good way. everything was kept so lowkey, she wasn’t the hugest fan of it but she didn’t want a fight tonight. right now, she just wanted to spend time with her boyfriend in his apartment, doing whatever the hell they wanted to do. her big blue eyes gazed up at brayden with a sweet smile before reaching up to caress his face in her soft hand. it was so great to hear that he missed her like she missed him while they were apart from each other. “just be here with me, it’s all i ask. i don’t care what we’re doing just as long we’re together.”

their relationship was a roller coaster that was almost impossible to get off, but with reason, he wants to stay on no matter what. it also gave him something to look forward to when he needed a pick-me-up, though he did miss her when they were apart. he looked from her shoes, upward toward her face with a smirk. “fuck, come on in here,” he pulled her in gently by her hand and shut the door behind them. “guess you can say i do,” he lead her over to the couch. “i’d like to know if you missed me at all,” he couldn’t hold back his thoughts from her. her breathtaking beauty didn’t save him much either.

“you don’t have to tell me twice at all,” she grinned up at her boyfriend. charlotte laughed lightly as brayden pulled her into his apartment by her hand. the woman gave his hand a gentle squeeze, following him and flopping herself on the couch. when they were apart from each other, charlotte wondered if he thought about her like she thought about him. the blonde sat up forward, pushing his hair away from his face with a flirty smile on her lips. “you know you’re all i think about all day long,” she leaned over to press a kiss against his lips before setting back in her seat on the couch. “now you said you guess you missed me? i’m hurt. now you gotta make it up to me.”

Guy couldn’t help but give her a surprised expression. He shook his head and chuckled softly, not because of her but of the crazy shit she had to deal with. “That’s insane. The kind of shit you have to go through and be put through is beyond me. I don’t know how you do it.” That last bit he frankly didn’t want an answer to but was still curious. “You seem to be okay?” Guy searched her eyes for a moment holding them in a stare. A slight smirk crossed his features at her suggestion. “I’d pretty much kick myself hard if I said no to the offer. Especially considering it’s you.” He laughed lightly and shook his head. “I’ll tell you but don’t laugh, deal?”

the blonde couldn’t help but chuckle at his shocked expression. “you’d be surprise at what kinds of things that we all got to deal with around here but i got to admit that that was the first time that has ever happened to me,” she replied back to him. “i never thought a married man would talk about me like that and have to deal with the angry wife. i seen it happened here and there but i never pictured it happening to me.” she told him honestly. charlotte nodded her head a bit then gave him a small shrug. “i’m way better now,” she offered him a kind sweet smile. char playfully rolled her eyes at him and shook her head. “i’m offering you a place to sit and besides i don’t think you could handle angel tonight if you wanted her.” a smirk formed on her lips while the words escaped her lips. “i make no promises.”

“i won’t lie, it can be pretty gruesome and stomach churning, but i’m the one that makes them as presentable as possible. i’m really good with reconstruction, so even if they look nothing like themselves, if i get a picture of them then i can make them look as close to themselves as possible. i know to the families, they never look like how they remembered them, but from a physical standpoint i get pretty close. it’s the kids and babies that really get me,” she said. it took an emotional toll on her to see kids come through that were so close to her own little girl’s age. she couldn’t imagine what the parents felt and she never wanted to know. whisper laughed a little and nodded. “it can get pretty unnerving if you’re not used to it but when you know the medical aspect it’s not scary anymore,” she said. “i don’t smoke in my house, either. i also stay outisde for a few extra minutes so i don’t drag as much of the smell inside,” she said. “was he pissed? i’d be pissed. i wouldn’t cheat on someone, but i’d be pissed if it happened to me. cheaters deserve it. if you get away with it, double kudos.”

charlotte listened to whisper as she spoke about reconstruction of the people she has helped. the image was nothing but gruesome in her own mind. it was the circle of the life, they all ended six feet under one day. “god, i could only imagine being a mom. how old is your daughter?” asked charlotte then bringing her cigarette back to her lips for a long drag and letting it out. it was sad but she couldn’t even think of what parents go through. she understood where whisper was coming from since she was a mother. kids was something far from charlotte’s mind but it would be nice to have a one or two one day. “if i had a drink, i would cheers to you,” laughed lottie, shaking her head a bit. “oh yeah, he was raging the next morning on the phone but he had no proof it was actually my friend or if it was the other girl he was cheating on her with. so he just raged and raged until my friend changed her number.”

“you get desensitized, honestly. of course it’s still heavy on the heart with certain cases, but as far as seeing bodies and doing the actual work, it’s like muscle memory. i still get emotional when i get a kid or a tragic case, but for the most part, i see bodies every day so it’s just another day at work for me. i still try to be as respectful as possible though, it’s really an art in a weird way,” she explained. “we also don’t get very many creepy things that happen. like body just randomly sitting up? that doesn’t happen. that’s a movie thing. they do make noises sometimes, but it’s just gasses releasing so it makes it sound like they’re groaning.” she’d always been interested in the death industry because her best friend’s family owned a funeral parlor in their house when they were growing up, so they were in and out and around it almost every day. “i personally don’t care who smokes where, but it’s kind of a common courtesy thing to not smoke where it’s gonna hit kids in the face, or anyone else that isn’t a smoker. or distance yourself, yanno? like these alleys, it’s the perfect place. i won’t smoke on the sidewalk, or even in designated smokers areas if it’s not completely blocked off from the non-smokers areas, but that’s just my personal preference,” she said. “oh damn, she went carrie underwood on him. i don’t think i could ever do something like that, but kudos to her for standing her ground. cheaters don’t deserve the respectful breakup.”

“honestly, more fucking power to you because i couldn’t even dare to dream to do what you do every single day. i would most likely cry or throw up somehow, there is no in between with that,” chuckled out charlotte in disbelief. there was a lot of thing charlotte has done in her short amount of time on the planet but never did she think she would came across someone who worked in that field. there was always a first for everything. her eyes widen once whisper said that they do make noises. “nope, nope, no thank you. again, i will cry,” she laughed a bit before taking another drag of her cigarette before setting her hand back down. the blonde dancer nodded her head while she listened to whisper and she was completely right. it was only right to not smoke in front of children and anyone who wasn’t a smoker. “i mostly smoke here or at my place but outside on the balcony so our room doesn’t smell, ya feel me? or honestly anywhere i am allowed too to be real with you,” she shrugged before letting out a small laugh. “yeah, she really went all in with his ass. i am just glad we didn’t get caught. i was the getaway driver. the passenger side was wide open for her to hop in and out.”

The rowdy scene in the club had rightfully pissed Aubrey off. She had seen quite a few dust ups in the club before but never like this and over a guy who really wasn’t even good looking in her opinion. Aubrey had been backstage when it happened but if she had been out there she would’ve cussed the guy’s wife out in a heartbeat… her fiery southern personality would’ve decimated that lady. She had been the one to ask Charlotte if she was alright, it was a force of habit… she was a nurse after all. She needed a cigarette after hearing about what had transpired. She saw Charlotte outside as well.

“Hey. Got a light? That lady was a total bitch by the way.” She said as she gazed at her, putting her own cigarette between her lips.

charlotte nodded her head before reaching into her bra and pulled out a lighter from it. with her fingers, she flicked the lighter and held it out towards aubrey so she was able to light up. “i got you,” she replied before shutting the cap and slipping it back to where she had it before. “fucking tell me about it. thank god, they got her before she actually hit me.” she shook her head. “no one has ever tried to fight me before and i guess... i guess,” repeated lottie. “it just startled me. like i smell gross now, her husband winked at me before they were escorted out of the club. so i don’t know. it’s all fucking weird and wild tonight.”

Charlotte and Brayden were together, but they weren’t together publicly. Brayden knew it was a boundary thing and he didn’t know much else about it. He believed they were close, but not close enough for him to know exactly why they kept their connection secret, besides the whole image thing. And, maybe it could also be because he was an up and coming DJ, though to him, he only believed he was known within Vegas. Regardless, he just wanted to hang out with her, mostly cause it’s been a few months, and he thought he’d supply some weed for the both of them and just chill, and maybe see what it turns into. He texted her to meet him at his apartment about a little while ago so he’d have time to make it look in tip top shape for the girl he cared about, though he knew it would end up a mess.

the relationship charlotte shared with brayden was unstable. their secret friendship that they had shared slowly blossomed into this wild relationship. it was a cycle they found themselves in of this on and off relationship but truthfully charlotte wouldn’t have it any other way. they both came from different sides of what las vegas saw them as. she understood it but it was a huge thing for the both of them. charlotte felt her iphone buzz in her back pocket as she stepped into the hotel room she lived in. a smile formed on her lips before texting him back and agreed to meet him. luckily tonight, charlotte wasn’t working. she just wanted two days off and monday was one her days. she quickly texted nicole that she would be out tonight and possibly be back tomorrow. soon enough, charlotte found herself at brayden’s apartment and knocked on the door twice before stepping back for her boyfriend to open the door. “miss me?” smiled the blonde at the sight of him.

He landed his eyes on the atmosphere for a minute before looking back up at Charlotte. “I don’t know about that.” Guy smiled a little bit and dropped his gaze to his lap. “You’d think I’d get used to shit like this happening all the time and yet here I am once again. But it seems like my night has just looked up. I’d offer to buy you food or something completely gentlemanly but after ten minutes looks like I still can’t move.”

charlotte let out a small chuckle then shrugged her shoulders. “yeah, maybe you’re right. you didn’t get a full ass glass of guinness poured all over you and almost got the shit beaten out of you by a very angry married woman tonight,” she recalled the events that had led her to this spot with him. she brought the cigarette back to her lips for another drag and gazed back over to him. “what happened anyways?” she questioned, tilting her head at him. “well, that’s very sweet of you. i’d take you backstage to sit down and relax but no one is allowed back there and i don’t want angelo to be upset with me.” she dropped her hand along with the cigarette onto the floor then stepping on it with her high heel. “but i can take you into a vip room so you can sit and ice yourself. well, of course, if you want. it’s private then you can tell me more about my drink at your bar,” she smiled at him.

whisper shook her head. “furthest thing from a dancer. i’m a mortician,” she said. it was a pretty popular club spot, there were dancers everywhere, so it wasn’t surprising that she was asked. she smiled and nodded as she took a drag. her mother was the same way. she knew she smoked, but constantly complained about it. “my mom’s like that. she knows i’m a smoker, but she hates it. she’s like ‘you shouldn’t smoke, you have a daughter’ as if parents don’t smoke? it’s not like i do it in the house, i’m always outside and if she’s outside too i just keep my distance. it’s common sense,” she said. “it’s pretty screwy that a gender has to be more careful than another, yanno? it’s insane. could you imagine if it was the other way around? it should be, honestly. females are a the ones to fear, we get insane if you cross us wrong.”

charlotte’s eyes widen slightly and she tilted her head to the side gently. “oh shit, really? that’s pretty crazy.” mused out the woman. she never thought she would run into someone who worked in that field. it wasn’t something that crossed her mind at all. “how do you do it with all the bodies? i’d be freaking out.” she shivered at the thought. charlotte nodded her head while she listened to whisper explain how her mother complained and about being a parent who smokes. “exactly, you’re right. my dad smokes, he always smoked outside of the house in the backyard. he would always make sure that he was far away from me and my mom when he sparked up. plus she always made him chew gum before he came in.” she laughed at the old memory of her parents. “it’s fucking sad to be honest with you. we women can def hurt the other one way more. my friend once slashed all of her ex’s tires and smashed his windows. granted he cheated on her with his college teacher so i get it.”

in vegas, word traveled fast in general - but strip clubs moved at an even quicker pace. you didn’t break a heel or sneeze without the other girls and various facets of club employee’s finding out. which was the case tonight. instantly after leaving the champagne room to make her way to the stage for her second stage set - nicole was pulled away and informed of the outbreak in the vip room - and being one of the club’s veteran dancers, she’d grown to care for most if not all of the girls. but charlotte wasn’t just one of the girls - charlotte was nicole’s lottie, her prodigy, in most ways - lottie was nicole’s baby. she’d taken her under her wing almost instantly after meeting her, much like carmen had done for nicole when she first started out. saying little to nothing the blonde rushed to find someone to cover her time on stage and went in search for charlotte. angelo had directed her outside and almost nothing could prepare her for the sight she walked out to see. her baby looked almost defeated. mindlessly she approached slowly and inquired if she was doing alright - frowning when lottie gave no immediate answer, “i asked if you were okay… you want me to go fuck someone up?” nicole asked, part of her serious the other playful as she slid an arm around the younger femme’s shoulders. she wanted to say it happened to the best of girls, probably more than once, but that wouldn’t help. jealous spouses acting out of rage, fear, resentment, hopelessness, loss, tended to act on adrenaline without logic did crazy things. nicole figured when it came to matters of the heart, common sense wasn’t so common. people acted crazy and wanted to blame almost everyone but the person responsible. pout settling on her candy apple red tinted lips, it was almost easy to recall her own first run in with a jealous wife. with a cringe, she hastily shuddered the thought away, “or we can blow this popsicle stand and go get junk food and go watch shitty movies.”

truth be told, charlotte was thankful to have nicole when she first started at the club three years ago. without her help, she wouldn’t have came somewhat out of her shell and she would still be that one girl who didn’t say a word to anyone but angelo. she had seen it happen to some of her co-workers a handful of times but charlotte never thought it would be her who got that end. she didn’t see herself as that type of dancer that was memorable to be taking about but this man always wanted her in the vip room. a gentle smile formed on her lips when she heard nicole’s voice, she looked up at the other blonde and shook her head. “no, it’s okay. i guess.. i’m just a bit shaken up? having a woman in her 40′s screaming that you’re a whore and homewrecker isn’t something i don’t get everyday. then have her scream at her husband is just.. wow.” she sighed, bringing up the cigarette up for a drag and moved her head the other way so that she didn’t blow smoke in nicole’s face. charlotte rested her head on her roommate’s shoulder. “as much fun as that sounds. i don’t want upset angelo for leaving early plus we got like two more hours. i just need a smoke break and another shower.”

carmen had dealt with her fair share of angry lovers deciding that it was entirely her fault for enticing their significant other to stray. in reality, while the femme wasn’t blameless she hadn’t forced any of the patrons to come to the club and indulge. she had persuaded, done a few promotional posts and photo shoots but hadn’t manhandled anyone into coming to get a view at the club. after hearing about an incident one of the other girls had dealt with, the spitfire within the tiny woman flared up but security had already handled it. so, the next best thing was to check on the dancer who had been targeted. stepping out back, she was sliding on a lightweight hoodie over her scantily clothed frame, crossing her arms over her chest and slowly making her way over to the girl. she initially asked the femme if she was okay, but upon the other girl speaking up, carmen’s brow arched up. ❝ i was just checking in after hearing about what happened. are you alright? ❞ physically, she was visibly okay thanks to security for the quickness but being confronted by the lovers of their patrons could leave some bitterness after. 

charlotte had witnessed a few of upset lovers coming in and taking it out on their spouses or the dancers. she never thought she would ever see the day where it would happen to her. this man always came in looking for angel. he always stated that he adored her big blue eyes and he did tip very well. she always noticed him slipping his wedding ring into his pocket but she caught it right away. charlotte wasn’t the one to judge on what happened in anyone’s household. she had her own problems to deal with. when she heard carmen’s voice, her lips formed a small smile. “hey,” she hummed softly before nodding her head. “just.. uh, a bit shaken up a bit. she dumped his guinness all over me and now i smell,” she laughed softly shaking her head. “i knew this was a possibility but when it happened.. i wasn’t ready for any of it. i’m just thankful the security got her and him out. it was a screaming match for the years to come.”
