If your belt's not lost and your hair's not a mess, did you even train?

It's not our fault we are so mean, both our blood types are B negative.
Why. So. S E R I O U S.
Me, showing the white belts all the fucks I give.

I got paired to roll with this former wrestler white belt guy who doesn't understand that he can't roll with me (tiny blue belt girl) the same way he can with a 180 pound dude. I already told coach I didn't feel safe with him, I just wanted to share that. Ladies, don't let these guys manhandle you in a way that makes you feel unsafe. Either they chill out and get technical or I won't roll with them lmao
Absolutely! You have no responsibility to roll with people who might hurt you, ever. Not even other girls. I have several people I wonât roll with, or roll with often, because I know that I canât keep myself safe if they make a mistake. Kudos for talking to your coach about it already too, I know that for some people (including me) that can be tough
In the same vein, we need to take good care of our partners. Iâve had that really hammered home hard in the last 12 months. Trying to rehab an injury, getting reinjured twice, and working with other people who have limitations like injuries or pregnancies has really given me a new perspective on this issue. Even though I tried to be attentive and controlled before, Iâm now extremely careful if someone mentions anything at all
I encourage everyone to choose their partners carefully, communicate well, respect each othersâ verbal limits and especially to pay attention to nonverbal cues. Weâll all be safer, healthier, and have stronger relationships if we do!

Fun facts!
Jiu Jitsu IS my date. đ
đ the US is backing another military coup to silence a blossoming Latin American country with socialist leanings that wonât play ball with the west in lithium mining & now Telsa stocks are way up! (Bolivia) đ the umpteenth indigenous activist for rainforest protections was murdered by Bolsanaro-emboldened loggers this year (Paulo Paulino Guajajara) đ peaceful protests the world over are being met with brutal police / military force (Hong Kong, Chile, Lebanon, the list goes on)
what can I do? at the moment, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu đ
Ouch!

Inauguration
Entry 1
Iâm beginning this Journal as a blue belt in BJJ. More specifically, Iâm a brand new blue belt, but Iâve been practicing martial arts my entire life. For me, training is one with being, and mine cannot exist without it. It is a passion and a deep fascination tap-rooted in the core of my soul--a need never satiated or quelled. With my spare time, the only thing I want to do is train, or at least study the art if I canât. Through hard work and determination, I will master the art of Jiu Jitsu, and I will share my journey here with all of those who wish to see.Â
This is where my story begins.Â

Guidelines
1. Set Specific Goals and Sub-goals. Create a detailed description of each goal, and provide a plan worded similarly to a behavioral objective for accomplishing them.Â
2. Reflect on lessons and rolls. Analyze strengths, weaknesses, blind-spots and revelations.Â
3. Be creative, and have fun with it. There are no wrong answers.Â
lost some training time but getting back to it
