Why do some people feel like it's their god given right to know about disabled people's business? I have Duane syndrome. Sometimes people will ask me, "Not to be rude, but if you feel comfortable explaining, what happened to your eye?" That's fine. I like when people ask instead of theorizing or just assuming I have a lazy eye. But the amount of times someone I barely know has been like, "No offense... WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR EYES? WHY ARE YOU CROSSEYED????" I'm not even cross eyed. I also don't owe you an explanation when you're rude. When people are rude, my favorite explanations are, "I was dropped on my head as a newborn," "I received a botched eye color change surgery," "I'm participating in a medical trial which I'm legally not allowed to talk about," and ominously, "I lost a bet."
