Thinking about this again because I saw someone in the notes point out that "Noir" is the darkness and "Moon" is the light in the darkness, which is kind of the opposite of Vince being the sun/daylight and Howard being the moon/night. And yet.... Thinking about back in high school when a family friend would call my sister and I "the light one and the dark one" because she would wear mostly white and pastel flowy dresses and I would wear mostly black gothy clothes, but then afterward we would laugh about which one was actually which because personality-wise she was often much more dark and moody than I was despite our appearances. Thinking about this

They both think they're the dark one but they're both each other's light. The day and night, light and dark, yin and yang. Opposites and yet two halves of a whole!!

It’s ridiculous how much they touch in the pilot, even when it’s not scripted. I counted 62 times (including deleted scenes). Though it’s not really fair to count times, cause they’ll just lean on each other and stay like that for the rest of the scene. Bet if you counted screen time, there’s more where they’re physically connected than not… Thinking about that interview where they’re like: “We didn’t know anything, we didn’t have any idea of what would or wouldn’t work.” “I didn’t know what way you looked, how loud you were supposed to talk or anything.” Nervous babies holding on for comfort.
