My pants pattern has now officially proven capable of making shorts. I had to make some adjustments because this fabric has no stretch and the waist sat kind of weirdly at first, but I am soso happy with the result! My first pair of shorts since I was a teenager and my first pair of shorts ever to actually fit me well!

For the @2026-fiber-arts-bingo I am counting this as another speedy project (bought the fabric two weeks ago, to finally make shorts), as well as a pattern repeat. :)

The blouse is also handmade ^^

"I have seen the forests." Whispers the salmon, almost to itself.

"Tell me what you have seen," says the whale.

"The forests spawned me." Says the salmon. "They sent me to the ocean to grow. When I am fat with the bounty of the ocean, I will bring it home."

"Why would the forests seek the bounty of the oceans?" Asks the whale. "They have bounty of their own."

"You forget," says the salmon, "That the oceans were once their home."

On the sunday of Dokomi, my girlfriend and I cosplayed Chell and the Companion Cube from Portal. We had so much fun wearing these costumes <3

My dress (and hat) are completely handmade and self patterned. Her costume is put together from customized purchased pieces. (The portal gun is from etsy, it's so cool!)

Sadly basically all photos came out a bit blurry, but I still really like them for the vibes :)

OMG. So there was this tiiiiiny little baby praying mantis on the flowers on her headdress so we carefull coaxed it off and said hello before I put it back in the tree we were under. But it was so tiny and cute and being all praying mantis-y… <3 <3 <3

You're welcome. If you can get ones about an inch across, that's ideal. I stuck them on with eyelash glue and those fuckers stayed in place for a WEEK, including through showers, before I finally ripped them off. Would strongly recommend shaving the relevant bits of skin first.

The yarn is handspun merino, about 30 grams left over from a hat many years ago. It was very fun to do something silly with it. I took inspiration from the worm-on-a-string tutorial that goes around tumblr from time to time but I used a pom pom maker thingy not a fork; a fork might be a better choice to get very small pompoms for a more cylindrical (less blobby) body. This is my entry for @2026-fiber-arts-bingo "make something red".

For the fashion show on friday at dokomi I experimented with my style a bit. I combined my skirt from AmaStacia with my blouse, top and accessories from Amai Dreams to create this look. Not totally sure as what style I would categorize it, but I quite enjoyed it :)

Finished another project! I started this on a whim after being inspired by some sparkly rainbow yarn I got from a friends destash. I would usually never go for acrylic yarn, but in this case the colours were too pretty not to use. I made this based on the Spotting Clouds Top Pattern.

On the 2026 Fiber Arts Bingo this project crosses off:

Complete a Project using only secondhand materials

Multicolour Project (Using rainbow yarn feels like cheating on this, but I'm still counting it :D)
