A slight shiver runs down Charlotte’s spine as she leaned back into Will’s warm touch, “Hmm, where?”
Everything was so much more interesting with Will, like a trip to the zoo, for example. When he pulled back, Charlotte glanced at him out of the corner of her eye, a small pout on her rosy lips.

A raised brow and a softening smile, “By all means, lead the way.”
“Let me just get my things.” Charlotte left for a moment. Upon returning, she had her jacket, her purse and was pushing an opened wheelchair. “Ready to go, Will?” she asked, holding a slender hand out to him.
The second she’s out the door, his hands are tracking through his hair, using a screen reflection to smooth out his hair. He changes out of hospital scrubs, back into a dress shirt and slacks, and he almost looks normal for a moment. Almost looks like he hasn’t been bedridden for a week. When she returns, he smiles, leaning against the hospital bed, “Yeah, perfect,” He takes a step forward, slow and dizzying, and puts a hand on the small of her back, hoping to guide her out without the insistence of a wheelchair.
Charlotte laughed quietly as she watches what he was trying to do. “Hospital policy. C’mon. Get in the chair until we get to the parking lot, okay? I made the nurse give me the chair,” she explained.
“Yeah, look. I would’ve believed it was hospital policy if you’d just left it at that. But you showed your hand, and said you made the nurse give it to you. So I think I’ll walk,” He loops her arm around his, her hand in his bicep, and walks to the door.
Laughing, Charlotte shook her head, “Sorry, no. I meant… a nurse was going to walk you it in the chair. I made her give me the chair so I could do it,” she rolled her eyes at him.
A pause as he eyes her, “Fine… but this has nothing to do with necessity.”
Charlotte nodded, “I promise. Just a chief enforcing her hospital rules.”

“I have a driver,” He flips through the pages, signing the bottoms of each. A smirk crosses his lips, quirking a corner as he looks up at her, “And I didn’t expect you to recommend anything strenuous until the third date.”
Shaking her head, Charlotte smirked, “Well,... How about... I drive ya tonight?”
roguerino:
“Fine-“ although he’s turning a pale shade, “I have the strength of ten men. I’m a god among humans.” Overly confident to cover for the brain melting headache, “Gimme the papers.” He shoves his hand out.
“You’re feeling sensitive to the light?” Charlotte asked and frowned, “Ya can’t drive for another 24 hours, and I wouldn’t suggest anything strenuous until the headache goes.” Handing him the chart, the blonde marked where he had to sign.
roguerino:
“Great!” And he’s sitting up faster than he has in a week, blood rushing to his head and turning his vision dark, “oh boy.” A falter followed by excessive blinking.
Charlotte returned a moment later, holding a clipboard with some papers attached. Watching him, she blinked as well, “Y’alright?” She reached out and took his wrist to take his pulse.

“So you’re doubting my abilities jus’ cause I’m a girl?” Charlotte raised a brow at the man before her and a slight smirk formed on her lips.
“You’re, on a good day, four foot two. If I had to guess, I’d say you weigh ninety pounds,” Two gross under-exaggerations as he crosses his arms, “And that’s factoring in the weight of your jacket and shoes.” Not that he was picturing how much she’d weigh outside of her clothes. Nope. “I’m doubting your abilities to ‘hurt me, and that’s a fact’ because, like I said, you’re a third of a regular-sized human being.”
Charlotte blinked and looked around her hospital, “I’ve got half a mind t’prove you wrong, but I made an oath t’first do no harm,” she huffed at him as she removed her lab coat.
He likes her— or likes that she’s no nonsense. It’s familiar territory, safe feeling, but so simultaneously different that it doesn’t force him to remember the ringing of someone else’s laugh or the way someone else’s bangs cast over perfect brown eyes… ok.. maybe he was still remembering certain details. But it was easier to forget with the woman in front of him, and he wants to keep that feeling for a little longer.
“Listen, hey, hey—“ something quick to get her attention for another moment, “Listen, I know things isn’t the ideal place, but I imagine with your work I won’t be seeing you again so I was thinking- no. Let me start over. I’d like to take you to dinner. Unless you have other patients to threaten, Doctor,” And he bows his head, looking at her through eyelashes and sparkly blue eyes.
Charlotte couldn’t help the slight smirk that formed on her lips, “not tonight, no. I’ve filled my patient-threatening quota for the day. I guess we could do dinner,” she replied, putting her lab coat over her arm.
“But first, ya gotta get released. Hospital food isn’t the best date food, to be honest. How’s your head?” She asked, her accent thick as she looked him over and then moved to quickly take his vitals.
“Good, Fine,” An answer that comes a little too quick to be the truth. His head’s pounding, and he still has trouble seeing straight, “Yeah. All went away. There’s a place a couple blocks from here with good chinese.”
“Hmm, I know,” Charlotte smiled quietly and used her light to look into his eyes to make sure everything was okay neurologically. “I’ll draw up your discharge papers.”

He places a hand on her lower back, guiding her just an inch closer to him— he knows how to play the game, where to put his hands, how to hold his voice. He leans down, and lips brush against her ear, voice deep and warm and full of the promise of things to come, “Look, a parrot.” A slight smirk and wave of his hand as he leans back.

”I will hurt you. That’s just a fact.”
“Yeah, listen,” A sigh followed by a bow of his head, “And I don’t mean this to intimidate you, but size wise, I’m about three people more than you are, so unless you’ve got a gun tucked into that dress, I’m not privy to believing you.”
