“Oh uh..” She froze and shook her head with a soft sigh. “I’m alright. It’s just a not-so-nice anniversary.” Spencer said, offering the brunette a slight grimace. “I’m sorry for worrying you and I appreciate you checking up on me. You’re very sweet.” Spencer said to the younger girl, smoothing her hands against her jeans and clearing her throat.

“A not so nice anniversary? That sucks,” Charlotte wasn’t sure what to do. Did she sit? Did she not? Truthfully the brunette wasn’t all that sure. Instead she simply shrugged her shoulders giving the woman a soft smile. “Sure, no problem. Whatever I can do, really.”

“I can’t believe this thing is still going on ever that horrendous accident.” Ellis said with a mouth full or cotton candy. “Oh where are my manners? Cotton candy?” She offered.

“You shouldn’t be judging, dude. You’re still here, eating cotton candy like the rest of us terrible people.” Though she couldn’t help but grin anyway at the offer before she tore some off the stick of the pink fluff her cousin was holding. “Duh.”

It was coming up on the anniversary of her family’s deaths and that was never a good time of year for the blonde. She had tried to push through, but not having anyone to talk to about it was really getting her down. Normally she would chat with her partner about it, but there was no contact allowed while she was on assignment. At least not unless there was imperative information that needed to be shared. So far though, everything had been quite and so it left Spencer with a lot of time to dwell. Glancing up from the park bench, she furrowed her eyes. “Sorry, did you say something?”

A brow furrowed and Charlotte quietly let a sigh release as she finished her jog around the park. Only as she was taking out her earbuds and catching her breath did she notice the blonde looking rather sad on the park bench a couple feet away from her. Steps taking her closer to the woman, a quick question of if she was okay went unanswered and it was then that the girl grew worried. Clearing her throat, she was about to try again until the woman addressed her, “I asked if you were okay.. you look.. shitty. I mean, you look fine, great even but.. you just look sad. Are you okay?”

i just went onto twitter and i saw that ihop is changing their name from ihop… to ihob.. it’s not what you think.. nope not international house of breakfast.. but international house of burgers… BURGERS. what even? i feel dooped and i’m very sad.

okay, one that’s stupid there’re a lot of good other burger places, and two.. ihop kind of sucks anyway so.. don’t be sad. i’m sure you’re going to find a better pancake house to eat at. ihop isn’t worth sadness, girl. i promise. plus, all the workers are probably gonna quit because everyone’s roasting them on twitter, anyway.

mckeltie: neither of my moms hardly talk to me anymore, sometimes i feel like if i just up and left they wouldn't even notice until i'm married and have a baby on each hip and another on the way. i guess that's another reason i get so sad sometimes. they're always busy, don't have time to talk... kinda hurts. like it makes me wonder why they adopted me to begin with if i wasn't going to be thought about 16 years later.

charlotte: sometimes my mom gets busy, and my dad.. he hasn't called since he left but i think they still love you. they wouldn't just adopt you and forget about you. i'm sorry, that really sucks and i know that i'm not your moms and i'm kind of an asshole sometimes.. but, you can talk to me if you need, about anything. i'm pretty and stuff, but i don't have many friends anymore.

mckeltie: i don't know what having a dad is like. but my moms are the best to me. sometimes i wonder what it would have been like having a mom and a dad but that would have meant not having one of my moms. sofia, she got the best of both worlds. two moms and a dad. it kind of makes me wondering about my birth parents but i wouldn't wanna bring it up and upset my moms.

charlotte: i don't know, it's nothing all that special.. it's like having two moms but ones a dude.. and u get accidental siblings, 'cause ur dads pull out game weak or something. it's nothing too exciting, idk. i doubt it'd upset your moms, maybe not arizona at least, she seems chill. like she'd talk to you about it or whatever. sometimes i wonder about my birth parents too but i know i have a better life now than i could've had with them.

mckeltie: depends on what it is honestly. i mean i cry at peta commercials. but the sad part is i get really depressed about them. i've been told i'm over emotional. i have anxiety so i think that has a lot to do with it too.

charlotte: i mean,, that's kind of a fair thing to get depressed about really. i get sad about stupid stuff too, my dad an i used to butt heads all the time before he went away, but now i really miss him, yet i know the second he comes back i'm just gonna be pissed off again. But, yeah.. you're probably right.

Jamie nodded. “Oh that’s completely acceptable. You’re graduating. So, eat all the snacks. This is the time to do whatever you want…I mean, within reason.” She smirked, taking a sip of her coffee. “How are you feeling? Are you excited?”

A quiet sigh escaped and Charlotte shrugged as she pushed her books away from her, only to grip the paper cup that held her coffee tighter. “I don’t know, not really. Everyone keeps asking me that but I don’t know what I’m gonna do anything.”

She smirked holding out the tray. “Live saver, no. But I’ll take it. I’ll also accept gorgeous, angel, you know…whatever fits your mood.” Jamie tossed her hair over her shoulder before taking her own cup. “Oof. Exams. I don’t miss that. Or all-nighters…but I do miss the all-nighter snacks.”

Grabbing the cup of coffee from the tray just as her cousin spoke, Charlotte couldn’t help but laugh before taking a quick sip. “Okay, angel. Well, you can have some of my all night snacks. They’ve turned into all day snacks but it’s basically still the same thing.”

“Yup, that’s right.” Jamie sauntered into the room holding the cardboard tray in her hand. “I come bearing coffee. It’s been a hell of a day, and I figured pretty much anyone could use a pick me up right now. You’re welcome.”

A bright smile fell against features as she heard her cousins voice and a sigh of relief escaped. Coffee, thank god. “Has anyone ever told you that you’re a life saver? I have like 2 more big exams before graduation and I’ve been studying all night. I love you.”
