Shiro stared at the girl's ears, staring stoically. Soon, her hand raised oh so abruptly, but still slowly, to touch Yuuki's ear. ''Softtt.''

"soft?" The small voice responded touching her own ear slightly. Yuuki blushed softly "Yuuki’s ears are soft?"

Shiro pet the ears, feeling them up and down with her petite hands. Soon, she’d move to touch her hair. Which wasn’t fur like her ears. She had come across people like this so this was not out of the usual.

Yuki looked out upon the desolate wasteland of her once beautiful home. The trees were gone and the ground was dry and cracked. Her bare feet hurt as they hit the hard dirt. It was then she remembered it all. She remembered her mother expending every ounce of life-force to build a cocoon for Yuki, so that she could survive the explosion. It had cost Ahri her life. The tears began t stream and cloud her vision. She saw someone approaching and spoke softly. “Who is there; don’t come any closer!”

She wiped away her tears to clear her vision and stared in shock, it had been years but she was still able to recall his face. Her body began to shake and she pulled herself to her feet shaking her head. “No… you… you’re dead…" she stepped away from him her entire body shaking as more tears broke free.

"You’re right, part of me did die that day," he began explaining, "however, that is not the whole truth. A friend helped me trick them into thinking I died, and daddy had to stay in hiding for a while…then this happened." tears began filling his eyes. He hands began to shake and he fell to his knees, "I was never able to return to you and your mother…I’m so…so sorry. I’m a terrible husband, and an ever worse father…but to know you survived I…I…"

I survived but mama gave everything to make sure I did."

The land was desolate, no other life could be seen for miles, if at all. He was used to the wandering, but even knowing life had ceased to exist, it didn’t help the loneliness any. Suddenly, when he was about to give up on finding any sign of life, there was a small child entering his vision as he walked. Upon getting closer she spoke out, only to shock him, Yuki.

He ignored her warning, only lifting off his facemask and smiling at his daughter.

I…you can’t…no….no…NO!" his darkness began to swirl and corrupt him, at the loss of his love.
