Until further noticed, I'm on an indefinite pause / archive and I will be setting this blog on PRIVATE. I'm not shelving the blog name, because I do want to come back to it someday. Whether it be in a few months, or longer. I feel like it's in my best interest to step away from Rakan for a little while and I don't really know when I'll be back. A number of factors have really made me very unmotivated to be in the league fandom right now, thus... I want to remove myself. I haven't been active anyway, but this will lift the pressure of needing to be here. Whether you want to stay for eventual updates, follow me on @storybounded , unfollow, or soft block. I don't blame you! There is no pressure in sticking around during this time. banking off @rebelquilled , I thiiiiink I'm going to put this blog under archive until further notice. I'm not committing to that yet. But that way I won't lose everything and I can return to it at another time when I feel ready. The hiatus/pause is still active though, and will remain in effect.

If ya'll want to unfollow, that's totally okay 💛💛. I'm mainly at @storybounded if I have any of those that don't know. But I may put this blog on private so I won't get any new expectant followers. But we'll see, I'm not messing with this today. If he does come back, he'll either get a fresh new blog, or he'll be thrown back on my multi. I may have to put in some...I don't want to say rules, that sounds harsh. Does 'boundaries' sound better? I do know I would rather keep with the OG vastaya lore since I developed so heavily under it. Which means the vastaya as a species are dying, there hasn't been a new one born within 100+ years, and they breathe the magic of ionia like air, that's their life source!!! And that's why they are fighting so hard to get their home back. Xayah's rebellion is worthless if the vastaya can live just...anywhere. Which means no interacting with vastayas younger than rakan and xayah, with the exception of Set. If that doesn't vibe with a few, then that's fine. That's okay!! 💛💛 But thinking out loud. I hope you all have wonderful days, and I will see ya'll on the other blog if you so choose!

Hmmm. I think I'm beginning to be on a crossroads with this blog and what I want to do. I was talking with @rebelquilled earlier, and we've both kind of agreed we lost a lot of our drive and energy to be here. I'm not doing anything rash of the sort, but know my muse for rakan has been awol. And I want to be honest and say that I don't really know if he will come back. But these are musings. I'm not going through with anything just yet, but I do need time to think about the future of this blog. It makes me sad, because I love Rakan to death. But between recent vastaya lore changes that we've seen in Arcane that is pretty much canon now for the most of the rpc that I've seen, and then me being dead here for years practically, I just... blah. l love you all, and I'm so grateful for you guys sticking with me for this long. And I apologize for not being so fun and active as I once was back in 2020-2021. I really don't want to have to shelve my birb, so as I said above, I just need to do serious thinking.

Hello?? where was this food while I was still active? Rakan and Xayah got another couple skin?? I’m so used to feeling lucky to at least get ‘maybe’ one a year. But the Battle Academia skins look…fine. I do love their streaks in their hair being a call back to their og selves. But overall my reaction is mixed,. Hoping there is more backstory info soon!

The Celestial Embroidery skins still has my whole heart.

But thank you for your patience. Been focused on other things so tumblr hasn’t been on my mind a lot lately. Well, it has but I’ve been in a huge kick to finish my gsites muse page on my multi! Hopefully it’ll stick around so Rakan’s can be next 😂

Hi, this short still hits me in the feels super hard. I remember when Kylie and I broke this short down for the better portion of the night The way Rakan is basically throwing himself up to protect Xayah, not really caring about his own well being. Since she is in so deep, it's making her far more reckless, and he is trying his best to keep her from getting hurt 😭😭😭😭😭

Arcane verse - Version 2

This is a secondary, but probably most likely the MAIN of my arcane verse since I enjoy exploring Rakan when he is with Xayah's rebellion. Also, these thoughts are very bare bones and aren't set in stone since I don't play Xayah at all. Until Kylie is able to gather her thoughts ( absolutely no rush gurl <3 ), I'm just keeping it very open for her whenever she gets around to it.

When tensions grew higher with Zaun and Piltover (especially when Ambessa started to take the lead), several tribes of innocent Vastayans were caught in the crossfire. Something Rakan was unaware of since news never got around to him.

He was performing in the streets of Piltover until he noticed Xayah in the crowd. Growing curious of her when she was left unimpressed with his charms, he learned of her rebellion...but also also learned of the fate of his own tribe that he grew up within. This left him enraged. Saddened. Guilty that he wasn't there to help. His parties didn't help unite anyone. He was only a dog merely performing tricks for drunken revelers.

These feelings didn't suddenly come about either, he had been doubting himself for years. At this point, the parties became a distraction to keep him from feeling restless and without purpose.

But now, he found a new purpose. Rakan, in his anger for his people, ditched his original plan to join mortals and Vastayans together and joined Xayah's rebellion.

Although it took a long time to grow used to one another's strengths and weaknesses ( let me tell you, them getting used to each other was rough and rocky road), Rakan ultimately became Xayah's wild card in battle.

With Xayah's skills, and Rakan's unpredictability, speed, and taunts....they become quite renowned as a powerful pair fighting to better the lives of Vastayans, no matter what it costs. But although the Violet Raven is merciless and cold hearted when it comes to Humans, Rakan is peaceful to those he can sense are good.

Xayah's Rebellion is separate from the Firelights, but I can see them having a common goal with disrupting shimmer production . So with Rakan having more personable skills, he is able to convince team ups from time to time.

I haven't appreciated my boy in a while. So I wanna take a moment to showcase just how fast, strong, flexible, and nimble Rakan is! Like. This bird man is able to pick up a full-grown ass man as if they were nothing in mid-air, spin them around, and completely toss them to the side as if they were nothing. It seemed so easy and effortless for him, and totally showcases his strength and how it's greater than that of a human being His digitigrade bird talons helps give him a spring to his step, allowing him to gain momentum even while jumping upwards from rock to rock. A tail keeps him balanced, but also it comes in handy for sweeping motions to further help trip up foes. He is able to use his wing cape in a certain way to turn him into something akin of a human arrow shot from a bow. To use magic and the wind to propel him forward at great speeds and to drop into a fight with ease. It shows how he really knows how to maneuver himself and work with his environment around him.

And my next animatic is live! I can’t believe I took a suggestion that perhaps could’ve been a short comic… but I went extra and made an animatic instead. Done in 2 and a half weeks, and everything was created on the Ipad Pro with the exception of video editing, which I did on my laptop.

Arcane AU. An alternate universe for Rakan set SOLELY within the show, and not the OG canon lore of Rakan due to too much original vastaya lore clashing. I'm done fighting my brain in an effort to make it work, so I'm going to make it easy on myself and separate this AU away from my canon until further notice (or until I think of a way to include OG Rakan. 😂)

Rakan. A name synonymous with wild festivals, uncontrollable parties, and anarchic music. This vastaya isn't what you would describe as someone who follows the laws set by Zaun or Piltover. Thus, he is a real headache to enforcers especially. Tales of the 'The Golden Phoenix' has amassed rumors, especially when he fights back to protect himself and friends with his unique battle dancing style abilities. Thus, he is constantly a wanted bird - criminally wanted.

But like the birds that fly off to the sky when a child tries to chase after them, he is is extremely slippery and HARD to capture. He is known for being super FAST on his feet, and able to make jaw dropping escapes when others thought him to be cornered due to what little magic he can possess in such a magic stifled city.

In fact, he is the type who would laugh at the rules set by humans because their rules mean very little to him. Not that he believes himself as a higher being. He LOVES the company of humans and other creatures. Rather, he is a FREE spirit. A chaotic good. He rather follow the beat of his own drum, although his good heart keeps his morals benevolent and kind. He is constantly trying to help out his fellow Vastaya in Zaun to survive with fresh food and water. In the same vein, he is trying to help make their lives better by trying to develop understanding with the humans of their need of magic to survive in a healthier manner.

But his parties to introduce vastayan cultures and food are unorthodox at best to most humans, and doesn't really get the point across so well.

I think I figured out something I can play around with. At least in Arcane. If Vastaya can exist in Piltover / Zaun here... then I'll play into that as an AU that doesn't correlate with Rakan's canon at all. I think that's the only way I'll be able to yeet Rakan in that verse. Much like how Star Guardian and Elderwood are extremely different as official aus. Because the longer I sit and think about it, it'll be impossible for Xayah and Rakan to even want to visit due to the fact that they physically would not do well at all away from Ionia. It's basically a death sentence if they are taken away from Ionia for a long span of time. BUT ANYWAY YEAH. An AU where Rakan and Xayah are a deadly power couple who runs their own faction of rebels in Zaun to better the lives of Vastaya in the under city. Them working together with the firelights because they both have the same goals despite being in different veins.. I still have a lot more to think on but what do ya'll think 🤔

Cowards, they didn't even give Rakan a close up like the others 😔. I KID. But anyway, prestige Xayah is gorgeous, Rakan and I are both 🥰🥰🤩 at her. I thought her pink skin was already gorgeous, but I'm such a sucker for the blue tones. Like holy moly... she is beautiful.

Blah. I'll be honest and say that being on this blog right now is very. Difficult. And it's nothing NO one has done, please don't think that.

I'm just in my own head and probably making things more complicated for myself lmao. I've also hopped aboard the S.onic train on the multi, so there is that too 😂.

I'm not going deep into it, ya'll already know how I feel about the vastaya's inclusion in season 2 of arcane. And how everything I've developed for Rakan and what I've learned about vastaya's for the last five years felt like it was tossed into the dust within a course of a month due to this new 'canon'.

For as much as I love the show, this really threw a wrench at me and I don't know what to do with myself LMAO.

So I guess I've just felt? Lost? At a standstill? Maybe there is a better word for it. And I thank you for your patience. I'm sure as hell not going anywhere, but I do want to keep you up to date with where I am at with this blog. I just gotta figure things out and that's taking time.

I know, ultimately, I will say that I am not A.rcane-centric. That I follow the original vastaya lore, but I will try my damnedest to incorporate my boy in that verse to throw at ya'll. I REALLY want to. It's just been a challenge (tm) LMAO. Some muses are easier to throw at Arcane than others.

Me while lying awake in bed:

Okay but what if Rakan’s tribe sought safety and made their homes on a floating island within Ionia, far from the human’s encroaching reach. But when Rakan left his tribe in an effort to prove that humans and vastaya could work together, devastation hit his home tribe due to magic being drained from the area.

Because a powerful quinlon that was erected miles upon miles away, sucking away the magic.

So when Rakan eventually joins Xayah’s rebellion, he comes back home…only to the majestic floating islands that he called home are no longer proudly in the air. What’s left is a grave yard of massive rock and stone jutting out of the surrounding ocean and earth. 🤔
