We need to talk about most recent Spinnerette arc
I know I don't talk about Spinnerette outside of webcomic checks but...recent pages bothered me so much I have to talk about it. We're gonna go backwards, from the second page to first page to cover art.
We see that Kraw has hired yet another artist, and this one...might just be the worst one yet.
For those of you who don't remember, these two are supposed to be Spinny's parents. And last time we saw them...they looked nothing like they do here.
And also, look at how Betty's face keeps changing into bizarre shapes, like her face is constantly blending out of shape. And why is Craig randomly blurred in the third last panel? And why does his stubble disappear?
I hate to make this accusation, but either this artist is fucking horrible, or Kraw or the artist he hired is using AI. Look, it does not surprise me. At this point we've fully lost the war against GenAI's and anyone who thinks they will just disappear one day like NFT's is huffing on copium. Out of all the artists I've riffed Kraw is the MOST likely to phase onto AI. The Anti-AI crowd is on large scale of things, a small but vocal minority, people aren't gonna care if Spinnerette uses AI, just like nobody cares about Spinnerette yet they keep giving Kraw money on his patreon because they're THAT goonbrained. But time to preceed this page.

When is the last time you saw ANYONE crack a Karen joke? Congratulations for finally updating your internet to 2019 Kraw. Ever since the pandemic people realized that to retail workers every customer is equally horrible and it isn't locked behind a specific type of person.
And why is Spinny's mom a Karen? Is that why she and Craig are taking a divorce? Look, I am not even going to compliment it, that last arc was so fucking bullshit with how they handled Betty's bigotry, I am not going to give Kraw not even the bare minimum of credit for trying to change the status quo. Betty and Craig are non-entities. They debuted after the Colonel Glass arc and thus don't mean shit.
And lastly, here is the cover art, and yes you are not seeing things, those guns do really say "Thoughts" and "Prayers" in them, meaning Kraw isn't just tackling Karens but conservatives as a whole...

"You can't critique the atrocities commited by our country in the past because we are better today than back then" is literally the most conservative talking point of all time. It's unironically something that a Karen would say. And do I have to remind you of DOCTOR DEMIKHOV???
Look, we all know why Kraw is doing this. He is not doing this because he sincerely believes this. He is doing this because he wants to now turn Spinnerette into The Boys. That's right, he started by ripping off Empowered, then he moved on to ripping off MCU, then he moved on to ripping off Netflix's Daredevil show, then he moved on to ripping off My Hero Academia, then he moved on to ripping off Invincible and now he's ripping off The Boys. The Boys's satire is not the type of satire I am into but at least the creators of that show believe in what they're saying. Kraw constantly changes his political viewpoints based on which person he's trying to squeeze money out of. He will put a "fuck billionaires" message in one story and shit on communism on another.
Kraw is a failure on many things, but he knows how to manipulate people and make money. He doesn't know how to make Jeff Bezos amounts of money but he is more successful than most webcomic writers at this point, what with three different Patreons all spewing out four digits worth of cash to him monthly. However, Kraw's mask has slipped a lot, hell, his biggest maskslip is his FUCKING SELF-INSERT, and it proves in terms of his political views he is closer to Connor Davidson and Kathy Kelloggs rather than Mookie, Jade or Angusburgers. And another proof Kraw doesn't know shit about being progressive is how ATROCIOUSLY he writes Mecha Maid and Spinny's relationship. i would rather be called a slur than read shit like this.
If the next Spinnerette arc is seriously going to be on the nose satire on Karens and conservatism, made by a hardcore objectivist who has a history of being a hypocrite, with art that looks like a malfunctioning A.I. art generator made it, then congratulations, Kraw somehow found a new bottom of the barrel. And I know you're gonna be like "oh wow the guns with those labels show some thought". No, it's bland, it's stale, it's kiddy gloves level satire. It's the definition of "safe edgy". It's not any edgier and more provocative than a Saturday Night Live skit. Webcomics should take advantage of the medium they're in and do something more shocking and provocative. I can think of 100 better more satirical covers that would probably get Kraw assassinated the second he would publish this.
Well, no matter what ideology of the week he shows, nothing will change the fact that Kraw is a hack.
