Penelope of Sparta remains unphased by her husband's war crimes.
My hand slipped :')
I don’t know if this makes it better, but the sword sheathe Ctimene has is a spare one that Eurylochus left for her :D
I would be an asshole if I designed a Eurymachus that was a relative of Polites and even resembled him a little bit visually... wouldn't I? :)
My first idea was making him his son but that is the one thing I can't do because Eurymachus gets introduced in the Odyssey in the same breath as mentioning his father Polybus. But any other kind of relative is not out of question, since Polites' family tree is totally blank (as far as I know)
Eurymachus claims (in the original Odyssey) that Odysseus held him on his knees and fed him pieces of meat when he was a child. That would fit wonderfully with him being related to someone who's close to the king.
And it would be even more painful when he tries to use the "open arms" phase to appeal to Odysseus and gets killed anyway.
(Of course I headcanon that Eurymachus was a two faced bitch who only did that to save himself (and possibly even to get another try at killing Odysseus once he lowered his bow & got close) <3 no sincerity behind his open arms)
Odysseus killing someone who is a fake copy of his dear departed friend and uses the same phrase........ pain.
And I've been waiting...
Waiting...
Saw that tags and now I want your opinion on Eurydices 👀
a true 10/10, a blessing to behold, every version of her. I'd walk into the Underworld for her too
Ooooh, it's immensely satisfying to know that there was a Eurymachus appearance in Epic the Musical after all, and that he's the suitor who tried to bargain.
Sly little snake.
Epic the musical is for all us wife lovers (whether we have a wife or not), vicariously living through Odysseus, and Odysseus was like "I'd do anything to see my wife again!" and we were like "hell yes, slay, king!" and then he did, in fact, slay. And didn't stop. And oh no, everyone is dead now.
trick or treat?? :>
Have whatever this is. Headcanon that Eurylochus' punishment in the Underworld is to take care of the Bull he killed
Waaaaaaaaait, hold on a second. New information loading.
The storm caused by Poseidon was... permanent? A permanent area effect?
It's one thing to say Odysseus' path is blocked by a storm whenever he tries to sail home, but the Vengeance Saga pretty much implied with "no mortal can pass through" that the storm was ALWAYS around Ithaca, no matter if Odysseus was nearby or not.
That means for the ~8-10 years that it took Odysseus to get there after the incident with Polyphemus, there was a constant storm that cut off Ithaca from the rest of the world.
(unless the storm lets everyone pass except Odysseus)
(but if it really stops every mortal...)
If that's true, then it's no wonder the situation with the suitors spiralled out of control. There was literally no way for anyone from outside to check on them. None of Odysseus' friends and allies could have reached them and protect Penelope and Telemachus.
(and watch them twist the storm into a sign of the gods being displeased that Penelope didn't make a choice yet...)
Those people who cancelled and were mean to Elianzis for the Antinous and Telemachus drawings and for other things:
Leave my friend alone, she explained her points simply and clearly enough, and unfollow me NOW

Here is my Atena design!
I'm thinking of making her a little more muscular, but slender, as if she represented the agility of battles. She rarely smiles, like a strict teacher who wants the best for you and one way or another, she will always be remembered. Also her snakes re a refference to medusa, as they represent each other (as my friend told me and I love to see like that).
And! Apollo and Athena after 'God Games' in EPIC - the musical and she gets this lightning scar.
Zeus beat the crap out of her, but he would never kill Athena!! And I like that it suits him to be so strict with her, at least for me, she is the oldest daughter and the one who suffers the most pressure.
I'm going to break your heart with this, but:
Remember how Athena gave Telemachus the strength to fight Antinous in Little Wolf, at least for a little while?
Now think back to how Athena got struck down by Zeus in God Games and was almost thought of as dead by everyone else until she mustered up the strength to get up again........by thinking of Telemachus.
Friendship win
