Richie’s missing poster in neibolt house basically proves reddie for me, ngl.

Okay so, I’ve made a post on this before but I don’t think I worded it or wrote it particularly well, so I’m back to write it again.

Basically, for me in IT 2017 the part of the movie that really confirmed reddie for me was the Neibolt House section. Obviously this is the home of some fan favorite moments- like Richie grabbing Eddie’s face or Richie being lured by Pennywise pretending to be Eddie. However, something that I never see mentioned and for me ties literally everything together is Richie finding the missing poster of himself.

So, up until this point Richie is still skeptical about Pennywise and isn’t fully taking it seriously, but then he has to go into the house where he finds the missing poster. This is obviously where something clicks in his head as he realizes how real it actually is because he starts screaming and crying, probably having a panic attack of some sort. So, Bill tries calming him down and we get some cute Bill & Richie friendship, but then you see Eddie behind them who looks just as destroyed as Richie. He looks so scared and broken at the idea of Richie going missing, and throughout the scene Richie is constantly looking back to Eddie. To me this is Richie not fully believing Bill, for whatever reason, and needing reassurance from Eddie.

After the moderator read the question, which ended with a plaintive “I want to be brave like you,“ Buttigieg responded, “Wow!” while the crowed chanted “Love is love!” reported USA Today’s Maureen Groppe. He then beckoned the young man to the stage, telling him: “I don’t think you need a lot of advice from me on bravery. You seem pretty strong.”

This was a moment and a photograph that spoke directly to the historic nature of this candidacy, one generation opening the closet door for another.

“I know that as this campaign ends, there comes disappointment that we won’t continue,” Buttigieg said Sunday night. “But I hope that everyone who has been part of this in any way knows that the campaign that you have built and the community that you have created is only the beginning of the change that we are going to make together.” To that the crowd chanted, “2024, 2024, 2024!”
