“I’m never that desperate. Maybe when I’m seventy,” Tripp laughed, shaking his head. “Sometimes? I don’t have this face for only sometimes,” he argued jokingly. “Why do I owe you anything, huh? I’m doing good though. Life is good. How about you and the little one?”
“Whatever you say Tripp,” he said as he got close to the other and gave them a kiss on their cheek before patting their shoulders and smiling at them. “Sometimes you know how to work it and it’s handsomely distracting and I might, might not find you attractive,” he teased. “You owe me for being your best friend and he is good. My parents have him for the night and giving me a night off. You should come visit and meet him.”

“They’re not wrong. But you don’t sound that excited about that fact.” Delilah looked around to see maybe who he was talking about. “Well that’s rude of them, especially at a party around couples.”
“It’s too much pressure and attention sometimes,” he joked before laughing. “I like it because I can use it against my best friend.” he added. “I know right? He will owe me.”

Addie followed his gaze to the couple in question. “Oh I give it maybe 10 minutes before that poor son of a bitch is covered in whatever shes drinking.”
“I say about five minutes,” he replied looking at the couple before looking back at the other. “I say that he messed up or she found out he is cheating on her.”

“I like that, could use more connected people in my life,” Caleb nodded. “Cool, how long have you been working there?”
Chase chuckled and smiled at the other. “Connections and good friends make life more fun and interesting,” he replied back. “For a long time, just got transferred back a few months ago.”

“Oh yeah? You connected, man?” Caleb asked with a raise of his brow. “Caleb– think I’ve seen you around the hospital.”
“I have tons of connections. A spy has to a lot,” he replied as he joked. A chuckle escaping his lips. “Yes and I believe I have too. I am a pediatrician.”

“Oh I’m a great time at parties especially if cynicism doesn’t offend you. If that’s the case we’ll get along great.” Addie nodded and clinked her beer against his drink. “I will absolutely drink to that.”
“It takes a lot to offend me,” he replied with a chuckle as he looked around for a moment. “How about that couple over there, one of them seems annoyed.”

“Maybe there’s something about being cornfed you know? Maybe that just makes people attractive.” Delilah nodded, “Me too.. well long enough to have a few glasses of wine but it doesn’t feel like I’ve actually been here that long.Did you come with anyone?”
“I did grow up here and people say that I am attractive,” he said with a chuckle and grin on his face as he looked at the other. “I came with a friend who dragged and has seen to disappear,”

Kay: Please I could do worse if I were really trying.
Kay: Booo. That's a lame excuse. Denied.
Chase: Ouch. You're lucky I don't have feeling and just pretend to have them
Chase: It's a good excuse. unless you want to come over and buy pizza

“Did you honestly just suggest an oatmeal cookie to me as a substitute? If I didn’t think you were good looking I’d never even look at you again,” Tripp said in disgust. “Fine but you’re buying them.”
“If you are that desperate,” he said smiling as he looked at tripp in the eye for a moment. “Good thing that my good lucks can play into effect and so does your sometimesl,” he added winking. “Fine but you owe me pizza in return. How have you been?”

“It’s weird right? Like I get it in Chicago, but we’re basically in a cornfield. Why is everyone so pretty?” Delilah looked over at him, “You having a good time?”
“I know right. Maybe we are in the hot capital of the world and all the hot people just keep moving here,” he laughed. “So far so good. I just got here not too long ago.”

“Exactly. This is an excuse to drink if I’ve ever seen one.” Addie handed over the drink before picking up her own and looking out over everyone. “The couple that is waaay too into this. Or that is super mismatched. Or that is just so miserable. The possibilities are endless.”
“You might have become my favorite person for the night,” he replied with a chuckle as he looked around. He took a sip of his drink and smiled, “This is going to be a fun and epic night.”

Caleb shrugged and motioned over to the other half of the table. “He steered pretty clear of this whole section, the night can be salvaged.”
“I might have to pull in some favor and get someone to get me free food,” he replied with a smile and chuckle. “I am Chase by the way.”

“Damn, and here I was hoping that they would have those sugar cookies that have about a pound of icing on them.”
“Well they do have oat meal cookies and chocolate chip cookies thought,” he said as he took a bite of his chocolate. “If only you got chocolate like me and if you want, you can tag with me to the store to grab some later.”
