Harry remained quite still as the impact of these words hit him. Then he turned on the spot to face her.

“Lucky you,” said Ginny coolly.

one   of   ginny   weasley’s   favorite   pastimes   was   watching   harry   awkwardly   ramble   —   especially   about   muggle   games.   amusement   flickered   across   her   freckled   features,   arms   folded   over   her   chest   as   her   brow   arched   and   curiosity   lit   her   eyes.   though   once   he   finished   explaining,   her   expression   shifted   to   confusion.   “   so   the   goal   is   just…   throw   the   ‘beanbag’   into   the   hole? .   .   .    does   the   goalpost   move,   or   the   bags   charm   themselves   mid-air?   i   don’t   get   it   —   doesn’t   seem   all   that   challenging.   ”

a   smirk   tugged   at   the   corner   of   her   mouth   when   he   mentioned   his   seeker’s   advantage.   “   oh?   an   advantage?   ”   she   echoed,   stepping   forward   to   snatch   the   beanbags   from   his   hands.   her   brown   eyes   caught   his   for   a   lingering   moment,   fingers   brushing   his   as   she   added,   “   i’ll   do   my   BEST   to   keep   up.   not   sure   i   stand   a   chance   against   you   and   your   infamous   seeker’s   arm.   ”    and   then,   without   another   word,   ginny   turned   to   face   her   target,   eyes   narrowing   at   the   clown.   her   whole   face   sharpened,   jaw   tight   and   eyes   unblinking,   that   skewed   look   of   concentration   she   always   carried   into   a   match   slipping   EASILY   into   place.   she   lunges   a   leg   forward   before   tossing   all   three   beanbags   at   once   —   a   quick,   decisive   motion   that   sent   them   sailing   straight   into   the   gaping   clown’s   mouth.   she   turned   back   to   him   with   a   sly   grin,   shrugging   as   though   it   were   obvious.   “   well,   you   said   the   goal   was   to   get   them   in,   didn’t   you?   ”   the   youngest   weasley   winked,   clearly   pleased   with   herself.
