Last Day Poster

From the critique, I agree that my poster’s perspective was way off and I should have done more prep work for the background. I ended up changing my original perspective to a different one so that is why it got messed up. I also agree my poster from far away was too dark but at the same time its a horror movie poster so its intended to be dark. Some people didn’t like the zombie hands coming from the ground but I think it helps get the message across that this movie is about zombies. My logo and movie credits were a bit mashed up so I would make the top area less crowded. In the end, I really liked my final poster because I was able to somewhat get my message across. I feel this poster is a work in progress because like all art, there is room for improvement.

Movie poster research: First three are sample logos for my potential zombie movie.  I included three movie posters that is close to my ideal sketch I did. Finally I decided to show a mini inspiration of the type of characters I want to add which is anime style. I want to attempt painting in photoshop( oh boy). I will post the story with my sketch in another post!

This is my final google doodle! I ended up using the pen tool for most of the art and some shapes for perfect circles and the fireworks.  I really like my final google doodle even though it was a difficult process with animating each layer. From the critique, I do agree that the background stars were kinda off in a sense that it should stay blinking and not skip a frame. I also wished my lunar lanterns would move a bit slower cause they did look like hyper children. People did like how I added details to my google doodle and they also liked the bananas moving up and down. Im also glad my choice of colors all balanced each other in the end which gave my google doodle a stronger statement.

So here is my final final finished version of my hero mask. After making this mask, I felt I could have done abit more to it. I wished to add more shading to add more depth like a real mask would. It still seems flat but I also liked the simple unshaded look but it does need a boost in detail. I would love to make the background a little more interesting but not overwhelm the mask itself. From our class critique, they also agreed that my masked needed more shading maybe with the mesh tool to add more detailing and depth. They also compared that the character I based this mask off is indeed a very evil being but I was able to portray the character as a nice hero. Overall, I can always improve by adding more and not less. I will not be afraid to mess with the mesh tool next time and add some depth.

Here is my rough draft/sketch of my google doodle animation. I picked Chinese Lunar New Years because I love the whole celebration of the new year. In China, Chinese New Years is the most celebrated festival. People spend time cooking big feasts and buying gifts for this Spring festival. A bonus is this year is the year of the monkey which I will have fun animating. My animation will try to capture the celebration with fireworks, monkeys , lanterns, and firecrackers.
