i love how erik meets charles and the students and BOOM! fatherhood. he adopts those kids so quickly. he had the whole lone wolf/james bond thing going on and it immediately dissipated once charles showed up

Hogwarts/Harry potter au part 1.5

So, I'm debating deviating from the source material, and instead of having year one be 10/11 years old, I'm aging everyone up. So year one starts at 15/16, and goes on up from there.) So Hogwarts is a magical high school/a bit of college. (Charles's family are purebloods but not death eaters - there might be a few wayword cousins tho-) So a different first meeting for Erik and Charles, in this Hogwarts au.

So imagine Erik at 16 freshly escaped from Shaw after like 4 or 5 years with that man. Years of isolation only meeting other death eaters, it's during on of these meetings in Knockturn Alley at night that Erik is able to escape (or did he?). Enter Charles (15) and Raven (13) who are in the leaky cauldron, getting ready to buy school supplies for Charles the next morning. Charles hears Erik's panic thoughts as he enters the leaky cauldron, and directs Erik to his table where he can hide Erik from the death eaters. "Why did you help me?" Erik asks, later in Charle's and Raven's room. sleeping on the floor next to Charles as Raven has the bed all to her self. "Because you're not alone." Charles's will tell him.

Erik is gone in the morning before Charles or Raven wakes up. Fasted forward a few weeks, Raven is crying saying goodbye to Charles at the train station. Charles mother is there, with them. Charles is distracted becuase he feels a familiar presence in his mind, and there is Erik, with a distant relative that is a wizard. They don't speak but they end up in the same compartment. Charles doesn't ask why he left, just tells Erik he's happy to see him again.

I want you to imagine that Charles and Erik dated during First Class.

I want you to imagine that everyone in the team knew and had no problem with it. That after the satellite dish scene, they kissed.

I want you to imagine that someone in the team (let’s say it’s Sean) had a knack for photography. That he took a picture. That Erik, in a stroke of romanticism took it and wrote on its back.

Now I want you to imagine that, many decades later, Charles has a photograph on the far back of the drawer of his nightstand. That it’s a picture of two young men kissing tenderly with the flora of Westchester on the background. That the words “The point between rage and serenity” are written on its back. That he only takes it out in his worst moments. A reminder that even the worst of sinners have the potential to be God’s favourites.

Why are you imagining this? This never happened. No one had a knack for photography. They never kissed. They never said “I love you”.
