Why is Tolkien fandom not constantly talking about how awesome Beorn is? He is the manliest possible man. His muscles have muscles. 75% of all the testosterone in Middle Earth is contained within his person. He’s the redneck who’d chase you off his land with a shotgun, except that he doesn’t need to because he can TURN INTO A GIANT BEAR WHO’LL TEAR YOUR FACE OFF. He puts goblin heads on spikes in his front yard. Gandalf, who faces down balrogs with nothing but a stick, looks at this guy and goes, “Yeah, we’d better be careful around him.”

Yet he’s also a vegetarian who runs a little farm and keeps giant bees and loves his animals like children. He loves a good story and laughs a ton (in that hearty redneck uncle sort of way). He offers his guests a feast served by little doggies. Even if he’s suspicious of outsiders, he won’t be outdone in generosity once he decides you’re a friend. He knows the dwarves for only a couple of days before he’s willing to load them up with food and clothes and supplies to last weeks. Yet he still follows them for days to make sure that his ponies are okay. He manages to be the toughest, most macho man and the biggest of softies at the same time. The deadliest sweetheart you’ll ever meet. And I think it’s amazing.

I LOVE this post and wanted to add some additional info, cause I see a lot of people who assume that drawing asian hair is the same as drawing white hair. This is not the case! There’s more to it than just the color.

Just like OP, I’m only one single person, so if anyone wants to correct me or add something I missed, then go for it. And further disclaimer, there are exceptions to everything I’ve said in this post, and it only applies to East and Southeast asian people who are either not mixed or white-mixed, as those are the hair types I’m most familiar with.
