Recently I’ve been thinking a lot about Red.

I feel like they’re kind of similar to Flowery where they want nothing more than to make Asgore happy. But while Flowery wants to distract him from his problems and surround him with nostalgia for the good times, Red sees that Asgore wants to solve this case and thinks helping him would make him happy. Part of the reason why they push him so hard is because Asgore giving them is an excuse for them to give up, but if they gave up them what was the point in wishing so hard to help him, to alleviate him of his stress? They couldn’t have just wasted their entire existence hoping to achieve a goal only for that goal to be rendered obsolete when they finally have a chance to see it through.
