But he makes you second-guess everything, makes you believe that you’re crazy for feeling basic human emotions. Makes you believe that his feelings and his problems and his whole story of his life is worse than yours. Taking advantage of the fact that you’re young and this is the first time that you’ve been in love. Taking advantage of the fact that you have been abused for your whole life so you accept any kindness that is shown to you. Convinces you that you are the problem in the relationship… Shows you his scars and his bruises and self-inflicted wounds and says well if you really loved me I wouldn’t do this. Meanwhile you have your own issues with self harming and tells you that you need to stop because you were stressing him out. Then he guilts you into everything by saying well if you really loved me you would do this, or threatening to take his own life and blaming it on you not doing something. Even to the point of guilting you to do sexual acts that you’re uncomfortable with, always with the same reasoning"well if you really loved me you would…“ Then breaking up with you saying you didn’t do enough and he hasn’t really loved you in months. Telling you that you were broken and that you need to fix yourself or nobody will love you. Then for years afterwards calling and texting and telling you all of his problems and expecting you to be there because you once loved him. Once again threatening to take his own life if you didn’t listen to what he had to say. Then successfully ruin any relationship after him, claiming he’s trying to protect you, claiming that he has your best interest in mind but really he’s just mad that you’re not paying attention to him. Finally you had enough and you completely cut him out of your life. He still tried to contact you and tell you their sob story saying that they’re sorry for everything. You blocked all his numbers and blocked every new social media account that he created just to follow you. But even to this day you second-guess yourself, you flinch when someone raises their voice, you still assume that you don’t do enough, that nobody actually loves you, his voice and his face still haunt your dreams. Every day is a struggle but time is slowly healing these wounds…

Reblogging this. He contacted me again and his girlfriend messaged me too. I’m so tired it’s been over 8 years since I’ve cut ties with him. Maybe they don’t hit you but when they’re controlling and threaten you please do whatever you can to get out and get as far away from them as possible. I know it’s not easy.
