Lost Isle is a loosely rustic themed island with breath of the wild inspiration incorporated. it is northern hemisphere, set in maple leaf season, and tools and an outfit to match my character are to the right of resident services! villagers are lolly, purrl, henry, maple, daisy, erik, coco, cally, fauna, and molly. all villager houses are decorated and my house at the back of the island is also fully decorated. let me know if you dream of Lost Isle and you are welcome (and encouraged) to share and tag me in any photos you take! thank you :) next i’m gonna get personal about this island + acnh and give some shoutouts to people who have helped me along the way with this island so please, do read! (no pressure tho)

this island has been the one constant and reliable source of creativity, happiness, and comfort. i made it on the 28th of may 2020 after a restart for my first island. i’m being honest when i say this island pulled me out of my darkest times. so this is a bitter sweet moment for me to put down the switch it’s on indefinitely. i might still do hhp but my joystick is very broken so that’s a big maybe. alright enough being personal, here are some of the friends who have helped me along the way with this island and have given me so much inspiration and confidence! @distillers, @deerheartcrossing, and @tiville. thank you all for letting me send you my builds, checking out my island when i need help with something, giving me items, reblogging my posts, and being such gosh dang good friends!!! love you all!!! and if you read this far? fuck it i love you too. moxxie OUT!

I talked about this in the comments of someone else’s post but I just hope people know that animators have a very strong tendency to animate with an energy that matches the voice work they’re given.

So please, imagine, with just how fucking fantastic the animation on Bowser is in the Mario Movie trailer, how much more lively Mario could have been animated if they were given anything but Chris Pratt’s joyless involvement, and be mad for just one more reason that we’re stuck with that fucker.

…oh my gods, they’re actually gonna make Mario’s arc in this movie learning how to jump properly. Just watched the trailer, and they didn’t say it, but like… it’s Mario. Jumping is his thing, it’s what he’s primarily known for - Sonic is fast and Mario jumps, these are immutable facts of video game lore.

But if you ignore his voice acting for a moment (be strong) and look at how he’s actually moving over the mushrooms as he follows Toad… he’s doing little hops at times, but in a normal person way, and he’s kind of stumbling his way along while Toad’s moving much more confidently.

So, knowing what I do of Mario lore and having lived through multiple decades of Hollywood bringing animated and game characters to the big screen, I’m calling it now: Mario’s arc in this movie is going to be learning to believe in himself and, as a visual result, how to jump properly like he does in the games.
