What a whirlwind year and a half it has been for my husband and I. We begun our married life with very little money, few resources and no plans, but we knew we loved each other and with God's help, we could make it work. Time has flown and it has truly been quite the adventure. So grateful my mom snapped this picture, the only one that was taken of us on the night we moved out of our tiny first apartment in East Hollywood, after an incredibly stressful month of transition. I love how it captures the exhaustion and relief, as we were nearly at the end of our rope but hanging on for dear life. It was a very bittersweet moment. It's so wild for me to look at this picture and reminisce on all the things God has given us and done in us individually and as one, in this first HOME. So so special, I will never forget it and all its character. The A/C that constantly shorted the electricity in the whole building if you tried to use the blender at the same time 😂 The long hot summer food-prep days, making smoothies, bone broth and vegetable juice from scratch. Cooking 3 meals a day and hand washing every single dish in that tiny kitchen. Hosting friends who slept on an air mattress that left so little space to even walk in the living room. Late night visits to the neighbor's driveway taco truck. Watching movies on our laptop because we didn't have a TV. Making our own gluten free pizza nights & watching the sunset on the roof outside our bedroom window, because we couldn't afford to go out on a date! To me this picture represents all the memories we made here not only with each other but friends and family, coworkers and neighbors. It represents the strong foundation God laid for us, as we began the process of learning what it looks like to love and accept your dearest friend in their best and in their worst, amidst all the laughing, fighting, penny-pinching and everything in between. Now we are walking into the next season of growth and life. We are 4 months pregnant with our first child, due Thanksgiving week!
