Cold Hearted
Do you ever feel so cold? All the way down to your bones? Looking out the window of today Even the brightest of blue skies They're painted with a hint of grey And now the glass has frozen Just like my heart That has nothing left to say The color leaves my face When i'm reminded of the past I want to erase I locked the door and threw away the key But why am I still cold? This frostbite feeling is taking over me And with the pages all torn and frayed Nothing is more damaging Than the happiness that couldn't stay It never remains the same And neither do these snowflake memories So small, so special and oh so delicate Melancholy melted I crush them in my hands Because everything comes to an end Eventually This winter solstice My numbing mess I sit here and pray Hoping this frostbitten sensation begins to fade Because things weren't meant to be this way
