But life’s a thief — slow, cruel — and it stripped her bare, stole her voice, her fire, her goddamn soul. Now, all that’s left is this — a girl shaped like a grave, clutching the rotting memory of who she used to be. Holding her old heart like a relic, a corpse of the life she once lived.

“Hello, my old heart,” she growls through her teeth, voice cracked and savage — not mourning, not begging anymore.
