About me

Hi, my name is Cherry, and this is my junk journal/personal blog. I thought to start off, I would share a bit about myself, so here it is!

I have just graduated from a diploma program and am about to begin my Honours Bachelor's degree in Counselling Psychology, which I am both excited and nervous about. (look out for studyblr posts)

I enjoy reading and have a personal goal to read 35 books this year, and so far I have read 8 and plan to share those!

I have so many hyperfixations, so instead of listing those, just know that they change often.

oh! I am currently in my 20’s and a Scorpio, which I have a love-hate relationship with (how very Scorpio of me)

I listen to a lot of different music, but tend to go to pop, rap, and 60's music. I also enjoy musicals. I am not super into them, but occasionally for sure!

Anyways thats pretty much all for now, I hope to follow some other personal blogs, so if you have any recs, feel free to let me know!

It's been a busy, eventful week. I've gone on a few spring walks/hikes, tried to figure out how the whole taxes thing works, haven't read in a while, and got the job I was wanting!

I am actually excited about the future, which I am trying to digest in a way that helps me identify and challenge my own cognitive distortions so I can fight the negativity. But I've bought my 'teacher' stationery and am so ready for training!

Also, the egg is random, but genuinely, I love the whimsy of this egg... I struggle to believe someone actually reads these. Thank you for that tho lolll.

I can't say anything relatively noteworthy has happened in the past few days. I have been sitting and waiting to receive my final marks for all my classes, but I can officially say I have finished my college diploma and will be graduating in June!!

To complement that, it finally feels like spring outside! Today I spent almost the whole day outside, and I am so ready to start hiking again! I have been yearning to be outside on trails. To be clear, I walk an average trail and no offence to anyone out there, but I'm not doing some crazy life-threatening hike, because well... I like my life... I added a video and a pic from a hike I did last spring, and I'm dying to do it again this summer!

Regarding reading, I haven't picked anything up yet, and I have no idea what I want to read. And regarding the job search... It's a work in progress. I did get offered to apply to the job with a recommendation from my student placement, but sadly, no one has gotten back to me :/

Anyways, during my break from school (until September), I want to focus on the following:

make money

keep reading regularly

be active/try a new active hobby

make more money

make some new friends (my siblings can't be my only friends anymore...)

learn how to flirt with women and older men who look like Shawn Hatosy <3

Emma M. Lion, the woman that you are!

It has been a few hours since I finished the fourth volume of Emma M. Lion. It has been a few hours since, and I am reminded of the grief and heartache in response to this edition. Everything about this series has been beautiful; however, the poetry and (without other words) sorrow I feel in response to Emma's character's love is an enigma I haven't felt in a long while. If you haven't picked up Emma M. Lion, make this a sign to do so; you won't regret it.

Anyways, today started well; I ate breakfast, which I normally don't. I spent most of the day at the placement, which went well. Tomorrow is officially my last day, and I am still hoping to get a job at the company after, but I am nervous about applying.

Oh! I had a client today recite a whole Brainrot song? catchphrase? and decided to write it out during their break and then in all seriousness presented it to the class... yup thats how I spend my days now, with like 12-year-olds trying to explain brainrot and Roblox to me... I feel 50 years old.

I did read a bit today and listened to a bit of music, but I have been thinking about decompressing after today and will spend the rest of the night reading, in my "I'm at home and need comfort" sweater, with brown noise in my headphones and a blanket burrito wrapped around me.

Today has been one of the most relaxing Sundays Ive had in a while. I not only got to chill and watch some YouTube (Sidemen Sunday), but I also did some school work, laundry and cleaning! Most importantly, I started this blog! On another note, I am a strong advocate that resting feels better when you've done something to earn it (in a healthy way ofc), and I feel much better about myself when I do that.

I have my student placement tomorrow morning and am excited since it's my last two days. I am also manifesting getting offered a job. Either way, I am happy the school portion is done on Friday, and then I will graduate from my diploma program!

I am currently reading The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion Vol.3, and it's good, but I am still struggling to find the energy to read. I am keeping an eye out for a reading slump and trying to move slowly to not make that happen again, since the last one lasted 5 months.

It is going to rain all day tomorrow again. I rather enjoy a rainy spring because it helps me romanticize my life a bit more. Maybe I'll try that new coffee shop tomorrow after work now!
